Story

Northridge Preparatory School is an independent, college preparatory school for young men grades 6-12, located in Niles, Illinois. The school offers a recognized curriculum and a strong athletics program.

Northridge was established in 1976 by a group of parents who envisioned a college preparatory school that would challenge their sons academically, socially and spiritually. Realizing the importance of the middle school years, they sought to include grades 6 through 12 in the Northridge curriculum. The founding parents entrusted the spiritual dimension of Northridge Prep to Opus Dei, a Personal Prelature of the Roman Catholic Church that was founded in 1928.

Northridge is the brother school of The Willows Academy, a girls college preparatory school in Des Plaines, Illinois; parents continue to foster a relationship with The Willows Academy by organizing dances and social events throughout the school year.

Northridge is a member of the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and the Independent School League (ISL).

The school itself an an instatution is fine. The only thing that makes this school unbearable are the bullys there.

I'd Gove it minus 5 if I could.  Just had 3 of their buses pass me.  Not one used a signal and the second one came back over in my lane so close that I couldn't see the bumper.  Mind you I'm driving a 18 wheeler and weigh about 79800 lbs. My guess is their drivers aren't educated at all.   Definitely wouldn't  want my kids on any of their busses.

Students are nightmares; bullying. Northridge is advertised as a very friendly environment, but I felt more appreciated at a free public school in downtown Chicago. This is saying a lot. There is a different type of bullying. Verbal, but also psychological. When I was in a different, higher rated and harder private school, I was getting better grades. It took me a while to find out that this was because of the kids who were saying very mean things on a new level. They were saying I was completely useless in life because I didnt know how to play sports, an because I was really bad at them and because I was overweight. This actually brought me to suicidal thoughts. This shouldn't happen at a "catholic" 😒 School. The kids were the reason for my almost failing in 2 classes, because I thought I was useless, and I only wanted to practice and become better at basketball. Even though I am an extremely talented musician, and barely recognized.

Some of the teachers come to work just to receive a paycheck. They aren't rarely available before or after school for help, and they just graduated from college, and have no experience, or 80-year old lunatics. 

Northridge was a lot different 10 years ago. Especially since 3 brothers all graduated from Northridge, and the 4th is going to St. Ignatius for high school. This says something.
