The food was delicious. They treat their customers very well and hold their food to a high standard. Definitely look forward to coming here again.
Great food and outstanding service. Update 2/2/23... This place is great for food service and the environment. I came right in and took a seat. There was someone ready to serve me in just a few minutes. The meals ordered were great. Filling for sure. Open to supporting Scouts as well. Looking for a meal. Come try Northwoods.
The service was pretty bad. Our server was really rude, in attitude and service. Basically threw our plates at us and got half our orders wrong. Our apps were good, onion rings and chilli kegs. There was a dramatic change when our dinner showed up. Most the menu is fried so my wife got the chief salad that's how it is on the menu and it had actual sliced kraft singles on it. I own restaurants and I know how some of the groceries show up....I was blown away. Maybe my expectations were too high. Expect greasy spoon.
The bartender was more worried about the slot machines than his customers. Watched people walk out because he was playing slots rather than doing his job. Very sad!!! Quality of food, quality of service has gone down tremendously! What a shame!!!
It's always a fun experience to come here and have the corned beef once a year. It's got a lot of flavor and is extremely lean, and is only available from the start of March till St. Patrick's Day. Totally worth coming, for sure. The inside of the building is reminiscent of a forest lodge, which you can really find yourself getting lost in the atmosphere if you enjoy the outdoors. Food came incredibly fast, even with them being at practically full capacity due to St. Patrick's Day, and all had a wonderful taste to it. Server was fast and helpful in getting us all set. Fun little tip, they will dye the beer green for a little festive touch!

Great time with the family, food delicious, atmosphere wonderful and welcoming, prices reasonable. They had a cool game area for kids with Pacman, hunt shooting game, and even pinball. Decent IPA selection. Surprising find in the Steger/Crete area. Will come again.
The waitress, Stephanie, was awesome. The Food not so good. There was five dinners. Two of us ordered the Eagle River Roasts which were burnt and very salty, couldn’t even eat them. Just ate the mashed potatoes and carrots. One burger was ordered medium rare and came out well done. Don’t know if we will come back again. Maybe just to have a couple drinks at the bar.
