About

The formula is simple: serve the best, fresh, authentic Mexican fare at a reasonable price by an attentive staff in a casual environment.

Story

Nuevo Laredo Cantina was opened in Summer of 1992 by owner Chance Evans. A lover of Mexico, its food and culture, he first brought authentic Mexican fare to Atlanta in the 1980s when he opened the U.S. Bar Y Grill. Evans opened Nuevo Laredo Cantina in its campy, off-the-beaten-path location with the sole intention of offering authentic, home-cooked Mexican food to the lunch patrons of the surrounding industries. But word quickly got around and before he knew it, the dinner crowd soon surpassed the already healthy lunch business. It only took a year before Nuevo Laredo Cantina won it’s first “Best of Atlanta” award by Atlanta Magazine. The restaurant has won this award (among others including the coveted “Zagat Award of Distinction”) every year to date since then. We will not purchase any meats, poultry or seafood that has antibiotics or hormones

I have been going to Nuevo Laredo for years! I am a widow and my husband and I shared a great fondness for this place. When he passed, we have a big family dinner there. The staff were absolutely lovely to us. The food never changes, it is always authentic and delicious. I delight in taking friends to eat there who have never been before. It then becomes one of THEIR fave places for Mexican food in Atlanta!

Awesome place! I ? Have never had anything here that I did not thoroughly enjoy. It gets very busy for lunch so get there by 1215 or prepare to wait. But it worth the wait.

What's all the hype? The food was terrible. I had fish tacos and a mole taco. 1 star for the mole taco, it was good. The fish tacos were flavorless. I didn't get the cheese sauce. Maybe the cheese sauce is what makes the fish tacos good? The guacamole was flavorless as well. The Cadillac Margarita, yuck! Only get that if you like diabetes inducing sweet. I won't be back.

Always a busy busy place, however, the food always comes quickly and the service is never lacking. If u love Mexican cuisine, give them a try...you will not be dissapointed

Amazing food and a good authentic atmosphere. The waiters seem to be mind readers, filling your glass/salsa bowl/chip bowl before you even know that you want more. The salsa is amazing, and the food is better. They have a killer Mole sauce and green chili sauce!
