Highly recommend trying this place out! It's under new management and it definitely feels like it! Bartenders are super friendly and prices are fairly cheap! The food is delicious for a quick bite! Try the Oside dirt burger and the hurricane fries. Bathrooms are well maintained, music is always playing and the atmosphere is super chill! Family owned and locally staffed! Can't beat that! Bring your friends and come have a good time!
A Dive Bar Diamond in the Rough! Brace yourselves, everyone, for the whimsical world that is Oside Bar & Grill, where every visit is a love letter to the eclectic charm of dive bars! Let's begin with Sheena, the leading lady of Oside, whose top-notch service would put even the most seasoned concierges to shame. Her welcoming presence alone is worth a visit. Mondays at Oside promise the fun of free pool. Sure, the balls can be a tad sticky, the tables are charmingly unlevel, and the cue sticks may remind you of a Salvador Dali painting, but it's all a part of Oside's unique appeal. You're not just playing pool; you're embarking on an adventure. On the day of my visit, the grill was taking a much-needed break, meaning no burgers. Instead, I was introduced to their "Buffalo style" chicken tenders. Drenched in Frank's hot sauce, these fiery treats were surprisingly tasty and proved that Oside can handle a curveball. While it's a beer and wine-only joint, they do have a sweet surprise: a robust cider on tap, bursting with a bold 12.5% ABV. It was too sweet for my palette, but it could be a delightful find for those craving a non-beer alternative. The back patio is where Oside truly shines, turning amateur wrestling events into community celebrations. It's a refreshing change from your standard bar and a testament to the unique spirit of Oside. Overall, Oside Bar & Grill is like that catchy song you can't help but hum along to. It's got the classic dive bar vibes, a communal atmosphere, and a dash of delightful unpredictability. It's an easy-going local watering hole, perhaps not your top choice for a date night, but perfect for a relaxed evening with friends. So, here's a toast to Oside. With a bit more polishing, this diamond in the rough could shine even brighter!
It was my first time there we went to see the band Black Pearl Roots Rock Ska. The band was really good they have a nice outdoor setup. Lots of room outside. Beer wine white claw was on the menu. They have a limited food menu during live events. We had chicken wings, garlic parmesan and barbecue. They were both tasty. We also had chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, and french fries they were all good! We received excellent customer service from our server Rachel. She was Bomb, super friendly and helpful. There are two nice pool tables in the front by the bar. There are partitions between the tables for Covid. Masks are also required. Just FYI there's only one bathroom Fun time was had by all
I love my hometown! It's been awhile since my last visit back home. I flew out to celebrate my buddy's birthday. I arrived early with another friend to catch the college games. I'm so glad we did. I had the best time at this spot. The staff was awesome. They are just cool, laid back people with that "O'side vibe". If you grew up in Oceanside you know what I mean. We have a great time just hanging out, laughing about whatever, like random people coming in and giving big tips and about growing up in Oceanside. Thank you for having a great place to celebrate with friend and family!
This is my favorite dive bar to watch the game. Watch any game, all teams and fans are welcome here. Manners and a polite conduct count in this dive bar. The staff is friendly and expect you to keep a positive polite attitude. For example, my team was playing and a fellow patron also in attendance support my team, got out of hand and was asked to leave by the second quarter because his commentary was extremely loud and peppered with RUDE commentary. The fries and the tater tots are great! The beer selection is typical of San Diego county, hop forward and high a.b.v. If beer is not your style they mix stiff drinks. Two pool tables and two dart boards to keep you entertained when your team is not cutting it. The bathrooms are clean so don't be afraid to take a date. A great place to catch your team.
Great place to go for inexpensive food and drinks. I love their wings and their cider.Food: 5/5
I walked in and got a beer with my favorit girl. Wasn't a bad experience, chilled I'm the out back patio it was a great comfortable nightAtmosphere: 4/5
Was there for my daughter's baby shower actually, where my handsome son in law works. His family flew in from Kauai, cooked on the grill in the enclosed back area with plenty of seating while enjoying local hospitality and beautiful Oceanside weather. A comfortable atmosphere any day of the week. A small, quaint, locally owned and well established bar. With pool table and outdoor seating and entertainment. Highly recommend.
Another 5 star review for this little spot! In from out of town, we were looking for a low key place with darts and were led here. When I pulled it up on Yelp, I was surprised about and skeptical of! the near-perfect reviews, so proceeded with caution. We were greeted immediately by the sole guy working, who we later learned is Rigo. This guy is impressive! He ran the bar entirely by himself, and we were in awe as we watched him work. No one ever went long qithout being checked on, he knew all his regulars, made engaging conversation, ran tabs, cleaned up, and even cooked the food himself. I've been in so many places where I received only mediocre service with several staff members working! Based on the reviews, we decided to try the burger. As far as bar fare goes, it was indeed a very good burger, and so inexpensive! Physically, this bar is pretty small, but they still fit in quite a few games, such as the aforementioned darts, pool tables, a punching bag boxing game, and a jukebox that also plays music videos. Really cool vibe, and I am planning to stop in again before heading home! Quick note - It's essentially beer & wine only, with just one specific vodka they keep on hand for mimosas.
The lumpia is A M A Z I N G!!! The hamburger was DELICIOUS!! Bartender that was working was FABULOUS! I love their system so you keep your card but the run it. So you cat lose it. But, even better, is:....... . . . . They're going to have fist combat wrestling all summer long!
