Oahe Veterinary Clinic is a mixed animal practice located in central South Dakota.
Dr. Jim Wolf, DVM
Dr. Wolf joined Oahe Veterinary Clinic in 1990, after graduating from Kansas State University Veterinary School. He grew up in Lenora, KS. Dr. Wolf studied his undergraduate at KSU where is earned a degree in Animal Science and Industry. In 1991, Dr. Wolf became a partner in Oahe Vet. Dr. Jim and his wife Renee have two kids: Christa and Jamie. In his free time, Dr. Jim likes to hunt, fish and continue to watch the kids rodeo.
Dr. Jeff Ehrenfried, DVM
Dr. Ehrenfried started with Oahe Vet in 1992, after graduating from Kansas State University Veterinary School. He grew up in Norfolk, NE and attended University of Nebraska Lincoln where he obtained his B.S. in Animal Science and minored in chemistry and biology. After 2 years of being an associate with the clinic, Dr. Ehrenfried became a partner in 1994. He and his wife Karlee have three kids: Garrett, Miranda and Becca. Dr. Jeff enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, sports and playing the guitar.
Dr. Heather Carlisle, DVM
Dr. Carlisle joined Oahe Veterinary Clinic in June of 2010, after graduating from Iowa State University. She is originally from Kennebec, SD where she graduated from Lyman High School before attending South Dakota State University and obtaining her B.S. in animal science. Dr. Carlisle enjoys doing small animal, equine and cattle work. She lives outside of Fort Pierre with her husband Carson and son, Charlie. In her free time, Dr. Carlisle enjoys riding horses, working out, and spending time with her family.
Sarah Sass, LVT
Sarah came to Oahe Vet in 2003 after graduating with her veterinary technician degree from NCTA in Curtis, NE. Sarah is originally from Mitchell, SD. Sarah helps with all aspects and daily routines in the clinic. One of her favorite duties as a technician is educating clients on different topics of pet health care. She and her husband Jason live in Blunt with their one-year old daughter Stazy Jo. She enjoys throwing darts, camping, and reading.
Elizabeth Medcalf, LVT (temporarily absent)
Liz graduated from National American University in 2011, and after doing her externship with Oahe Vet, she stayed on as a full time technician. She is originally from Pierre, SD. Liz helps with both small and large animal duties. Her favorite technician jobs include helping with small animal surgeries and equine patients. Her husband, Josh, is currently a member of the US Marines and is stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. Liz likes to ride horse, spend time at the beach in the summer and hang out with friends.
Serena Townsend
Serena graduated from Western Dakota Tech in 2008 with her degree in Equine Management and Natural Resources. She is originally from Hayes, SD. Serena started work at Oahe Veterinary Clinic in January of 2010 as a veterinary assistant. Serena helps with both small and large animals, but enjoys working with equine and cattle work the most. She and her husband Peter live in Fort Pierre with their two dogs. In her free time, Serena likes riding horses, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
