Not a good dining experience...very disappointed. Service was slow although there were only a few people there besides the two of us. Took awhile to wait on us, even longer to cook the food and get it to us. Not that we ordered anything exotic, rather, a grilled cheese sandwich and french fries, and a grilled chicken salad. No one offered a refill on tea, so I went to get a refill and ask about the food. Our waitress said they only had a small chicken breast already grilled, so they were going to grill another one for me. While getting the report on our food, the kitchen door opened and I noticed 3-4 workers standing around talking. Our food order arrived after about a 30 minute wait, both the grilled cheese sandwich and the grilled chicken was cold to the touch, and they brought potato chips instead of the french fries that had been ordered. Customer service was definitely not a part and parcel of our experience, nor was the food worth the price. Not sure if this was a usual experience, but it was ours. We do not expect to come back again, nor refer others to the Oak Creek Cafe.

This is a comfortable restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. The service personnel are friendly and efficient. They offer free home made Pinto beans that have just enough seasoning to make them quiet tasty. Portion sizes are large enough to satisfy your appetite and please your taste buds.

To be fair, it's been 2 years since our last stop...was great then. Today stopped for late afternoon coffee and a snack...place needs some work. Service was good, but overall came across "sleepy" and in need of work. Will try again next trip thru here.

Good place for Sunday lunch after Mass. Burgers and sandwiches are good. Fried shrimp not so much. Marco Pollo ( not exactly the name) is very good and a good diet dish. The grilled and fried chicken salads are very good. Chicken fried steak is good but certainly not the best around. Good assortment of craft beers if that is your thing.

Okay, perfect October day in a rustic Hill Country town and we decide to get some Texas BBQ. Safe bet right? Wrong! Nearly a 1 h wait for carry out - which I guess is 15 min in Blanco, Texas. Hey, Ms. Texas Tattoo, how about a free beer? I could have caught a catfish at Blanco State Park a block away and eaten it sushi style.
