My aunt passed away 70 yrs ago. A headstone and vase was purchased at that time. My mom frequently place flowers on her grave along with my grandparents and when I was there this past May, the vase had been removed and fresh dirt spread over the area. My mother immediately went to the office and inquired as to what happened to the vase. She was told they didn't know and they would replace it. She sent pictures of how I found it. She has sent several emails to Vickie, the office manager, phone calls and in person conversations. This past month, when speaking to her, she assured it was going to be taken care of. Yesterday, again She went to the office, not very Happy because still no vase. So my mother gave her a picture of the grave with flowers in the vase from earlier in the year. Her reply was, this picture is all we need to put in the work order. Here it is 6 months later and at the holidays, when I go to pay my respects to my parents, and grandparents and thete is still no vase. So my mother gets a phone call this morning from Vickie. She stated her property manager says I have to have a receipt from where the vase was purchased. Vickie told her they have no records from 70 yrs ago. I surely don't either. This was in 1952. The proof is there by the picture. Surely the vase would not have been there if it wasn't paid for. She my mother has been disrespected by this cemetery for years now. Here are some pictures from this. 1st from before May 3rd present.
So the annual clean up happened this week. I understand that, I truly do. So I took things home that I knew were going to be removed. However, we were led to believe that all flowers in vases would be left untouched. NOT SO! The ones from my son's grave are gone and so are the others around us. People had decorated for Easter already, with some beautiful flowers. They are no longer there. Graves are bare. I thought they would have learned something from the disaster that happened at Sunset Memorial Gardens. I guess not. Very disappointed right now....
Imagine driving up to spend time with your loved one and finding this? The problem was brought to management's attention over 10 years ago and nothing has ever been done to correct the problem. Such a sign of disrespect for our loved ones. So sad! Edited: Apparently, Oak Hill continues to remove my post from their Facebook page. Wonder why? They never cared about this problem in the past.
We laid my baby brother to rest today next to my father, very difficult,,,extremely difficult, but Vickie made a hard, heartbreaking moment to a very warm familiar like family gathering of love ones to pay their last respects to someone gone to soon. Thank you Vickie for making our last good bye a blessed event of overwhelming love Also the gentleman that buried my brother stopped by and gave their condolences

You would see that over the years, they had bent the vase up terribly when cutting the grass. Guess they were tired of hitting it and just took it up. How disrespectful for this to be done and even more disrespectful to us, the family, not to replace the vase.
I put artificial flowers on my husband's grave 3 weeks ago, and my family went to visit yesterday and the flowers were gone! My whole family was very upset including me! Very disappointed!!
