We dined here for lunch and we had a delightful experience! ! The service was excellent- within 10 seconds of sitting down to our table, the restaurant staff appeared with multiple dim sum carts. There were myriad choices, but we ended up choosing the crystal shrimp dumplings, regular shrimp dumplings, chicken buns, fried shrimp balls, fried wonton, and a hot rice soup. The food was fresh, appealing to the eye, and just scrumptious. The atmosphere was authentic, welcoming, and friendly. The cost was $38 for 3 people which is one more reason we will definitely be going back to Ocean Harbor on a regular basis!
The best authentic cart-serving dim sum anywhere I've ever had this cuisine. I can't believe how juicy and tender their meatballs are! I was salivating just watching the server pour the finishing touch of sauce on top just before serving it to us. I loved everything that we got, which included the chicken feet! I never thought I would want to try it, but there it was, and it was way better than I ever imagined. Literally everything was so scrumptious. It seemed like every item was marked as a large item, which felt just slightly scammy since we could see some of the baskets were smaller. Still, it's so popular that a line was out the door! Would come here every time I'm in Philly. Parking: The EZ parking lot we used was located on 9th Street a few blocks away, and you must prepay for it, at least 2 hours. Has electric vehicle charging
My go to dim sum spot back when I lived in Philly. Authentic and has some quality taste to it, similar to the spots I've gone to in NYC. If you are new to dim sum, might be hard to know what to order over here, so best to grab someone familiar with it.
The food was okay, average quality, but obviously this place is very popular. We arrived at 11am and waited in line for 15 mins. We have 2, but they let a table of 4 behind us to go first, maybe to maximize profit? They also mandated >18% tip, which I wishes they could have stated upfront. Again, the food was average and so was the service.
Whenever we are in town, Ocean Harbor is our go-to place for authentic Asian Cuisine. The food is amazing, and the staff is always friendly and polite. We ordered our usual salt, pepper calamari and pork chop, beef and broccli pan fried noodles, flounder and bean curd in a hot casserole, and curry chicken. They are all delicious and tasty. We highly recommend this place if you're ever in Philadelphia Chinatown.
Definitely a 5-star dim sum establishment. Everything was top notch and as good as it gets, with all the standard dim sum staples you would expect. The congee was one of my favorites. Interior was clean and the service and carts were all stocked and fresh. Price was very good as well. I'd definitely come back here next time I'm in Philly.
The restaurant has definitely reduced the quality of service. The service lowers the overall rating, it's a waste of good work in the kitchen, we left after a few minutesFood: 3/5
Went here for lunch Thursday before heading to the flower show based on the reviews. It was a big disappointment. It was like we were basically invisible. A couple of ladies had carts with hardly anything on them and another lady just walked around from table to table with a PLATE of steamed rice noodles. We ended up ordering from the menu and we had to actually raise our hands to get staff’s attention after sitting there 10 minutes waiting for her to come back and take our orders. The food came fairly quick but they didn’t bring any rice to go with it and we had to ask for that as well. To be clear there were hardly any customers at the time. It felt like we were bothering them being there. They only came once to refill our tea again after raising our hands to get their attention. Big fail on customer service overall. We won’t be going back.
The food was okay, but I've had better dim sum elsewhere. Some dishes were too oily or lacked flavor. The servers seemed more interested in their phones or chatting than attending to customers. The servers told us to take a seat anywhere, and when we sat down, they came and relocated us to another table like terrible service already. Don’t say sit anywhere when you’re going to relocate us. Waiting over 5 minutes for water, even when it wasn't busy, was frustrating. They repeatedly asked if I wanted certain dishes, even after I declined multiple times. One server insisted on a higher tip, demanding it before we were allowed to leave. Making it better, she never even served, which was unpleasant. The food didn't justify the prices, and overall, the service was terrible. Waiting around 40 minutes for chicken feet, despite ordering them right away, was a disappointing experience, and they kept saying it would be ready soon. Never coming back, I don’t recommend it.
No reservations so have to wait until our table is ready we were 8 but Very convenient after have a seat. Always Dimsum or some meal cart coming around tables often so take them and kids or adults can start to eat right away. No need to wait. My friends recommend this Dimsum restaurant. We liked and will back. If you share with some peoplemany kind of food you can try to eat. Kid-friendliness: High chair. Always Dimsum or some meals cart coming around tables so kids or adults can start to eat right away after seat. Wheelchair accessibility: There is stairs so you can't go up the stairs in a wheelchair. If some people carry it up must be ok
