Very nice place, convenient location at a mall with a free parking lot. Pleasant interiors, clean restrooms. Good service, pretty good variety of ice cream flavors. They allow sampling, using metal spoons that are washed, that's much better than disposable. Only 4 starts because the prices are high $7.40 for one scoop and a cone, and because other reviews mentioned some ingredients that are not so natural and healthy.
Pretty good ice cream spot in the beautiful chestnut hill area. The different varieties is really nice to have on the hard ice cream with different unique flavors. The soft serve options only have 2 flavors unfortunately, would be great if they could add a couple more different flavors. It would definitely make for some interesting and tasteful options to have a twist ice cream cone with different flavors of soft serve. Overall really nice place service was prompt and friendly.
Had a pretty fun time here. It was a beautiful day and they were bumping but not that crowded -- great patio seating that offers lots of dog and people watching. We got the flight 6 tiny scoops for $10 and it was perfect. We tried the following flavors: basil chip Boston special, miso cherry, buttermilk honey blueberry, coffee crunch, saffron passionfruit apricot, and oatmeal cookie v. Their vegan ice creams are oatmilk based -- the oatmeal cookie was a little one dimensional and easily our least favorite. Otherwise, the basil chip was phenomenal -- just bursting with basil flavor. The coffee crunch was pretty special for such a "basic" flavor -- the crunchy bits were truly bitter and coffee-y. The saffron passionfruit apricot was lovely and tart, the miso cherry was a super complex flavor that might be hit or miss for some it was a hit for me, deeply savory yet full of cherry flavor, and the buttermilk blueberry was excellent as well. Service was a bit...strange. The person manning the register and coffee bar was clearly a little under-trained since they took a long time to rang us up and spent a ton of time looking for a cap for the coffee the person in front of us ordered...so by the time we got to eat our ice cream, it was already going soft. Their ice cream tends to be a little more soft-textured closer to gelato than hard ice cream but on the plus side, they're very encouraging with trying out new flavors! We'll probably be back! Great addition to the Chestnut Hill area.
I know about OddFellows Ice Cream. I have been eating their ice cream since about 5 months after they opened their first store in Brooklyn. I don't get back there any more it seems, so I was overjoyed to find them here in Chestnut Hill during my vacation trip. I had the Raspberry Rosé Cider, which is "ice cream infused with Aval’s Rosé Cider, complete with a sweet and tangy raspberry jam swirl". That sound really good, doesn't it? It exceeded my expectations. My wife had Passion Fruit - Sugar Cookie, which she rather liked. Just watch the cars around this complex. The drivers come at you from all angles.
This was not our intended destination, but so happy to have found it. Two flights split between 4 people and boozy apple cider. The peanutbutter jelly ice cream was incredible. Definitely a crowd pleaser. The flights were $10 each, not cheap, but the ice cream was totally worth it.
This place is different. Look how they made me 3 nice scoops of ice-cream. Others tend to make a big gob! Try kitchen sink! It was my surprise favorite. The decor was old skool. Super clean!! They used metal spoons to let you try different flavors. Suggestion: stop using anything plastic.
Got place for the night desert. They also have vegan options, I loved there’s over JP licks. Go try for yourself!
Very delicious ice-cream. The people who work in there are super nice! I definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in the area!
Lovely place! And if you want something soury-sweet go for the exotic fruit taste! And I love their near by lake!
So happy this place is here! Moved to the Boston area a year ago from NYC and finding this place really made my day! I was spoiled in NYC with being downtown and having two of these to choose from. Anywho, it’s a nice big shop in a convenient location. I sampled a few flavors but went with a coffee flavor the name escapes me in a yummy chocolate cone! I’m 8 months pregnant and this place is near my doctor’s office, so I will definitely be back! Lol.
