I called this urgent care before I went and was told by the recording (the office wouldn't take calls personally) that the minimum cost would be $74 to see a nurse practitioner. After comparing with other urgent cares, I decided that a nurse practitioner would be good enough to help with my cold/flu symptoms. During the visit, I was suggested to take the test to see if it was type A or type B flu. I was concerned about the cost, but was told that it depended on the insurance instead of being informed of the price. Out of trust, I thought it was a new technology and of low cost if a provider would suggest it for such a common ailment. However, the bill shocked me that any provider would make such a suggestion for a possible flu that has no cure at all!??? It was unnecessary to take such an expensive test just to verify the type of flu. After all, it takes about 2 weeks for the immune system to do its job regardless of the types, just that the severity of symptoms would vary. With life science background by training, I tried many natural ways to manage the symptoms before the visit. My only concern in the visit was the fever. I only needed to be instructed about the actions that I needed to take to prevent possible secondary infections and to cope with possible symptoms of all the current types going around. I don’t believe medical providers themselves would spend such money on their own flu/cold symptoms. Now I realized that this test lengthened the visit time and quadrupled the cost for just a cold/flu!!! Never in my life (53 years) have I paid $313.24 (adjusted by my insurance company) for the 2nd day fever from a cold/flu! I would never have agreed with the suggestion if I had been informed of the price of the test. The cost for the test was not transparent or justifiable for a common cold/flu. This medical technology and the unrevealed price create a loophole for providers to earn unmerciful income. I am terribly disappointed at the practice! I took Tylenol for 5 times with many natural remedies and my life was back to normal. This test should only be suggested if the patients' symptoms persist. The extra cost can buy two weeks of food supplies for two persons ...... We are a single-income family...... I feel like being robbed ..... :(( I learned from this experience that I always need to insist that the prices for any suggested procedure be revealed before I agree with the providers. Medical loopholes are out there to make us poor... BTW: The provider was very friendly.

The website says they are open until 8:30, but they take their last appointment at 8:15. I knew this, so I rushed out of the door to get there at 8:15. The door was locked, she took her time answering. She said "We take our last patient at 8:15". I held up my phone and said "it's 8:15 now", to which she replied "It's like 8:18 and I already turned the computer off". I've been there after the doc signed out of the computer before, they just record it manually. I said, "cant you do a quick strep test?" and she said "that's a 15-20 minute test" (which, guys, could have put her there until 8:33). But I guess her medical degree turned back into a pumpkin when she logged off of the computer. I find this typical of a lot (but not all) OSU practitioners, especially the younger ones, they don't see patients as people anymore. At this location you either get this chick with personality plus, or the guy who's treatment care EVERY TIME is "take ibuprofen like it's candy". True story, more than once. And like the others said, they waste just enough of your time to make you too late for anywhere else.

The service has been great, but the cost reflected on the website does not match reality. The website reads "visits start at $59 and same day physicals are $39." My recent sick visit with throat culture cost about $210 for the visit plus $80 for the throat culture - on a bill that took 4 months to arrive. Prices should be more transparent at clinics like this.

They do not answer the phone and do not follow the posted hours. Claim to be open until 8:30pm but stopped taking patients at 6:00pm because they are "slammed" with nobody in the room. Occasionally I could understand this, but it has happened on more than one occasion. A disappointment compared to other OSUMC services.

They actually close at 8 pm. We showed up at 8:10 and though they were inside the door was locked and the sign was up that the doctor had seen the last patient for the day. Too bad - this made us too late to get to anywhere else that was open.
