Story

Okoboji Expedition Co is a bicycle and outdoor sports store in Okoboji, Iowa. We are located on the eastern shore of West Okoboji Lake in the Iowa Great Lakes region. The Okoboji Expedition Company carries bicycles, kayaks, cycling apparel, cross country skis, and snowshoes along with all the needed accessories for all of the above. We also specialize in custom bike fittings and offer winter spinning classes.
We offer bicycle products from Specialized, Cervelo, Co-motion and Alchemy. We also stock Oru kayaks and paddle boards from SOL, Tubbs snowshoes, Atomic cross country skis and outdoor clothing from Mavic, Pearl Izumi and Louis Garneau. Stop in and see us… you’ll be glad you did.

Excellent service! I was an inexperienced cyclist looking to purchase my first road bike and Taylor helped me purchase the perfect bike for my size and experience level. Taylor never hesitated to answer my questions during and after my purchase. I highly recommend purchasing a bike from Okoboji Expedition. My whole experience was very satisfying and I will definitely use them in the future!

Great experience buying my bike at Okoboji Expedition. Learned a lot about accessories that will help me improve my cycling like a HR monitor, power meter, and an indoor trainer for the Midwest winters. Great employees! Also informed me that they do not rent boats!

Taylor and the crew at Okoboji Expedition Company provide exemplary service. I am a novice triathlete and have learned so much from the guys about what kind of gear will help me perform my best. The fitting system they use helps dial in what bike and measurements will give you the most efficient and comfortable fit. The community that has been built whether it’s in the group rides, indoor training sessions on the KICKR, getting new gear or a bike tune-up, is second to none. Thank you guys for creating a wonderful atmosphere in your shop.

I bought my first entry level road bike at OEC about 4 years ago, and when I decided to upgrade I knew I wanted to buy from them again. I recently purchased a new road bike from them, and the experience was very positive. After telling him what I wanted in a new bike, Taylor (the owner) helped me find the bike that was right for me without being pushy or trying to upsell. Drew built the bike for me and did a fantastic job. It rides great and I’m very happy with my purchase.

Okoboji expedition helped me get set up to go fast for a triathlon in Florida. They have a plethora of services to offer for cyclists and a highly knowledgeable staff.  I would highly recommend them.
