Story

On the banks of the Chewuch, OSB is open 7 days a week, providing craft brews and delicious food to the people of Winthrop and all who come through our doors. We have friendly service, a heated, outdoor Loft, a large, riverside patio (open when the weather is warm), and a cozy pub with live music weekly. Our beer keeps winning awards, and our house-made recipes complement the delicious brews. Hope to see you soon!

Great beer, good food and nice staff. Great old building and the seating on the patio alongside the river makes for great summer casual dining. I'm adding a comment about the menu- if you don't like bacon, good luck. Bacon comes on all the burgers and most sandwiches. I was going to order a plain cheeseburger but was told that it had to have the bacon on it, no special requests. Then I was going to order a simple cheeseburger (no bacon) from the kid's menu, but the menu read, "Please, only for children 12 or under."  I'm not sure what's going on here, but on behalf of cheeseburger-loving customers I'd like to request that you offer a good, old-fashioned, simple cheeseburger along with the bacon burgers.  Also, the turkey sandwich (comes with bacon!) would be much improved with a higher quality turkey.  Old Schoolhouse Brewery is still a great place for a terrific beer and good food.

No stars.  Told it would be  a 25 minute wait then it ended up being over an hour and we gave up and left.  We stood in line to buy a beverage for over 10 minutes while waiting for a table.   This was not a Saturday night or a holiday weekend.   The employees seem to think this was  normal  and was to be expected.  They also ask people to leave after you finish your meal so that they can turn the table.  It's wrong ! Went down the street to another restaurant and received much better service and appreciation of our business. I only have one star because I had to in order to make my post!!

Rant: Nothing special to see here folks. They pride themselves on these award-winning beers, but they have the worst customer service imaginable. The beer was okay, nothing special as previously mentioned. It tasted like any other IPA. Our party of two had a burger and two beers each and it was over $60. This place is absolutely outrageous as far as pricing goes. We will never attend again.

To make it worse, when I got home we looked online about this place and to check for a menu, we realized that our server was actually one of the co-owners.
Sad...

Rave: The salad with goat cheese was good.

Had fish and chips, pretty good. Service was fast and pleasant. My son had a BBQ burger and he really liked it.

Good Mexican food at average prices in this quaint, old-timey town. Service good. Margarita very good.
