My mother Etta Lee (Smith) McNeill (Honey) was raised in The Old Spanish Fort!
My grandfather Robert Levi Smith married Ida Krebs after his first wife died and they moved to the Fort... They are both buried in the cemetery there!
They lived there for many years... I have a little memorabilia that I offered to the Fort about 15 yrs. ago, but most was duplicates of what was already in the Fort!
We go back there often, and take pictures of the Fort, my husband by the guns, etc...
I love the peacefulness of the Fort, and have extremely good memories of having been raised in Pascagoula, where my mother could walk us kids to the beach in the morning and the Fort (lake) in the afternoon for a swim~~
