Story

Olive Tree Marketplace is the perfect hybrid of gourmet meets grocer. Our name was derived from all the healthy and natural ingredients we sell in our market and the inspired gourmet food we prepare with Italian, French, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean influences. Our complete line of natural, organic and gluten-free products along with our extensive deli, baked goods, gourmet prepared food, fresh seafood departments and chef-made gourmet catering is combined with everything you'd find in your conventional market.


What makes Olive Tree Marketplace so special is the combination of experience and world-class gourmet food. Olive Tree Marketplace is owned by the Shehadeh family, a family of six brothers and owners of a chain of independently owned supermarkets in New York, and Chef Hani Qassis, a passionate 5-star career Chef in the hospitality industry for over 24 years. Chef Qasiss' impressive resume includes Executive Chef at RH Macy Co., as well as Columbia University, celebrations and events for designers and celebrities such as Henry Kissinger, Bill Blass, Donna Karan and Muhhamad Ali, and as a Regional Executive Chef overseeing events at the Javits Convention Center and Yankee Stadium. He most recently set a record for the largest meal served to16,206 people at the Presidential Inaugural luncheon for President Barak Obama. They came together to form the perfect marriage of specialty gourmet and prepared food along with the convenience of shopping a full line of groceries at reasonable prices in New Jersey and the Tri-State area.
