If it wasn't for Dr. Coat's up to date knowledge my son would have definitely lost his eyesight in his left eye due to an infection.  I am so grateful that he keeps up with his education and knowledge of recent breakthroughs in medicine.  He is amazing!

I made an appointment, showed up 5 minutes early, and close to an hour later still no exam! I needed to have my eye looked at for shingles complications, and was forced to leave because my son had another appointment! When I told the front desk I had to leave they were rude. This place has horrible service to patients! I hope my eye is ok, made an appointment for someone else. I am happy to share my experience with anyone who asks.

If you have any issues with eye dilation I would avoid this office. During the pre-examination I informed the technician of my allergic reaction to dilation. The technician completely blew off my concerns and denied that such allergies exist, despite the fact that they do. She then stated that they would not be able to submit my exam to insurance if I did not perform the dilation. I confirmed later with my insurance provider that dilation is not required for routine eye exams. I had no choice but to cancel my appointment on the spot. 
I did not care for the attitude of the technician nor was I offered a clear reasoning for their stance on dilation, as other offices I have visited had no such requirement in place.

Receptionist had an attitude.  Treated me as if I was a big inconvenience.  Her primary goal was to get me away from her desk.  She assumed (wrongly) that I understood what she was requesting and seemed annoyed that I would ask for help regarding my insurance questions.  When I complained that I did not like how I was being treated, she used the excuse that she had to take care of the front desk and the phone.  Well, I was the only patient and there were no phone calls.  I advised her to cancel my appointment and I left the office.  I was there for fifteen minutes and accomplished nothing.

Extremely rude front desk people. They close early and give you sass and make you leave when you show up well before closing hours to look at frames. Doctor Coates is rude and tries to rush your appointment to move onto the next patient. No regard for patient needs. Don't waste your time here.
