I have had nothing but good experiences here. All the staff I encounter are professional. My PCP Dr Roper is fantastic, albeit booked pretty far in advance. I’ve had several same day appointments with other providers when urgent issues have come up and all have been great. I do have insurance and the billing has always been done right. Since there are some very negative reviews heavy on all caps but light on specifics I thought I’d contribute that I’ve had nothing to complain about in the several years I’ve been coming here.
I love the OHSU Center for Health and Healing. The South Waterfront location is amazing, especially if you have to visit a specialty that is on one of the higher floors like Neurology, Cardiology, or Dermatology. The views are absolutely to DIE FOR. But it's a hospital so you probably won't. You should definitely consider this location for your primary or specialty care.
Dr. Cheng is my primary care provider but I have also seen a few others from his care team over the years. Dr. Cheng is one of the most genuine physicians I have been treated by. He listens to my concerns, works with me when urgent needs come up, and advocates for me when needed.
I had been a patient at this facility for a few years. Recently my appointment was cancelled the day before and I didn't receive any notification, so when I arrived the front desk said I was rescheduled. I took work off and drove 25 minutes to get there. So I rescheduled to today, and I got checked in, and then they called me up to the front desk and said my appointment was cancelled because I checked in at 9:01 and was a minute late. I'm done with this office. They rush through visits like it's a conveyer belt, getting you in and out in 20 minutes . I like the doctors here but it's not worth it. Going to find another provider.
IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR WELL BEING AT ALL, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! They fired me as a patient for asking if I could do virtual appointments instead of in person ones, for my two med refills, because my health has gotten really bad and I’m waiting on spine surgery. And this practice was where I was going for primary care. They were so horrible and aggressive and refused me basic accommodations, and put me through a thousand hoops, just to end up having their “lovely” office manager, Jeanine, call my mother to tell us that I’m no longer welcome at that practice. They didn’t even call me. And then they left me without any med refills on my sertraline that I’ve been on for 9 years, and my hydroxyzine which allows me to eat. Both dangerous meds to stop cold turkey. This practice needs to be shut down! They are downright abusive and violating laws and risking patients safety left and right. Not to mention that my former providers nurse forgot about me at an appointment and let me sit there waiting for a blood draw, for well over an hour. She came in finally after another nurse found her for me, and she told me she forgot about me and then grabbed my shoulder to stop me from walking out the door because I no longer trusted her anywhere near me. This place is a disaster and obviously hires the worst of the worst, and are so poorly managed that even good doctors aren’t able to help.
Yes, bill insurance for $500 for a five second appointment. Yes, bill insurance $400 for a virtual visit. The Behavioral Mental Health services aren't even a joke, we aren't laughing. I get that doctors have lives outside of work, but should they come to virtual visits possibly still drunk from the night before? Shout out to the nurses, janitors... the people in the labs... doing the actual work. If a PCP has to look over a chart of medications, especially common antidepressants, to learn more about them, they should not be prescribing medication. OHSU, more like OH-P-U. #medicare4all #universalhealthcare #proact
What a waste of time and money. I went in with a minor skin infection Tinea and was prescribed a cream that cost about $40. The Dr said to apply it for 7-10 days... I did it for 2 weeks and it seemed to clear up. After about 10 days it returned with a vengance and now applying the same cream was FAR less effective. So I basically was selecting for drug resistance. I looked up threatment protocols online and it said for fungal skin infections to apply the cream for 4 WEEKS! So after a total spent of ~ $420.00 I was right where I started...I found an alternative treatment on Amazon for $11, applied that until the tube was gone and I am all good! GO ELSEWHERE!
very clean. Very modern. All the best practices and information. This is a teaching hospital so occasionally we have to deal with people coming in that or not the doctor and watching but it's in the interest of progress so I don't mind it. The doctors are very friendly and so are the nurses. There are many to choose from so if you don't get when you like you can always change. They take Oregon health plan and all major insurance plans. I've been coming here for at least 10 years and have had nothing but good experiences. If you're looking for a doctor that's close to downtown or close to the South waterfront this is a great option.
HORRIBLE PLACE!!!! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH!!! The doctors here are horrid hacks who do nothing but gaslight their patients; this clinic is wrought with malpractice, abuse, all the biases you can think of, & incompetence. Be prepared to have your treatment & recovery delayed by years if you choose this clinic.
I have been going to this clinic for 20 years. I called to make a appointment and they told me they they removed my primary care physician for no reason and would could not give me a new one at that location. They claimed only the Orenco station clinic could get me a new primary care physician, I called them and they told me they were too busy and to try again in 2 months. Only way to be seen is to go to emergency care. I wish I could give 0 stars.
