Liked the interior it feels and looks like a very clean and intimate diner. The waiting after sitting was a bit long to get our order but understandable. I had sloppy Joe omelette and it was good. The home fried could've been a bit crispier and spiced more. It's located right at the heart of Castro district. I'd go back again and try one of their many burgers.
Old school greasy spoon. Great food & service. Snappy wait staff. Excellent value. Stop in. Enjoy BTW. They have peanut butter fill pretzels, don’t tell anyoneFood: 5/5
Decided to walk around Castro and visit this diner on my way out of town. I felt welcome the moment I stepped in and was taken care of right away. The staff had a special charm that made it some what feel like home. I didn’t catch the name of the silver haired gentleman who ended up taking care of my order who was very kind and attentive but I did catch the name of the handsome blonde server who took care of me when I entered. Nate was super friendly and easy to talk to, was attentive and kind. Would return just to say hello! Definitely check this out! It’s worth your time. :
What a gem! The place to be for a great breakfast at a fair price. Good atmosphere. The owner is welcoming and will give you amazing recommendations of sightseeing if you’re tourist. Although you won’t be surrounded by tourists as locals seem to enjoy the place as well! Pancakes, bacon, bottomless coffee, sausages, burgers and more.
Best little hole in the wall of a restaurant. Everything on the menu looks amazing. We had a burger and fries, fish and chips, and stuffed French toast! The hot chocolate with whipped cream hit the spot! The staff was courteous and had great suggestions. We will be back for huge pancakes with all the breakfast fixings. Parking: There is a paid lot about halfway down the block.
Chef needs to learn how to make a Philly Cheese steak sandwich. It's not made with Slabs of beef it made with Strips of Steak. So sad.
This was a really cool diner to chill in and eat. Food was hot and fresh and the service was the best.Food: 4/5
coming out and college days are WAY behind my very own existence. visiting OA after bar-hours then and returning to the very institution that it continues to be today is so worth relishing about. food was just as curative fulfilling then as it was today. yum pineapple burger? oh lala the montecristo? whoao! who am i kidding? to die for. my burger was a bit overcooked but nothing that affected the fabulous memory. the "gordito server" who took my order was more interested on grindr than he was on anything going on in the temple. no judging. hehe all in all, a happy return and a promise to be back again, soon. thank you OA!
Location and atmosphere are really great, but the food is very lacking. I wish I could say it is only mid-quality diner food, but I think it doesn’t even reach mid-quality.The milk they served with the coffee was expired, and it took them a long time to replace the coffee. Maybe it was an off day? I was so excited to try this spot and was really hoping to like it, but I won’t be coming back if I can help it. One really good pro: dog friendly! And there is a really cute dog in the staff.
I reviewed this place 4 years ago but I am re-reviewing because it’s as good now as ever. It feels like a warm hug with the best diner food I have ever had. Love breakfast and the turkey melts and the malts and fries and … everything. A must any time in the Castro.Food: 5/5
