My surgeon recommended Ortho Rehab's Renata Beaman for post-surgical care. Not only is Renata a smart, knowledgeable, personable physical therapist who keeps up on the latest research, she actually goes into the operating room with various surgeons to see how they work. Thus, she can tailor rehab to specific procedures and surgical styles. The bonus with Renata is her assistant, Therese Owens. Therese really understands how the various exercises work and how to apply them.  They are a dynamic physical therapy team and I am grateful for their expertise throughout my long recovery.

For most of my adult life I struggled with severe debilitating headaches from years of poor posture and sitting at a desk. The headaches prevented me from enjoying life fully and limited my upper body activity.  I had limited neck mobility and was on a very significant amount of pain medication when my neurologist referred me to OrthoRehab. I started with manual therapy by Lu Taragos to soften the muscles and tendons in my neck and head which significantly reduced my headaches.  Then Rebecca Jacobs started me on a posture rehab program to realign and strengthen my body to prevent neck strain and consequently headaches caused by activity.  Before therapy treatment, I had three to four debilitating headaches per week and today i am down to one headache every few weeks.  It is amazing to wake up in the morning without a headache and not be dependent on pain medication. OrthoRehab has changed my life so I can be active again without pain in my retirement.

Since age 16 after a bad car accident I started seeing a physical therapist and chiro. Now in my 40's and later in life finding out I have a connective tissue disorder called Marfan's Syndrome. In short I have been to over a dozen rehab type facilities including Mayo and then Fairview sent me here. This place has answers. Many of them. The team they have gives you the time you need not just 20-40 min. then exercises. Most places a governed by they coorperate owners and hospital chain only use what is approved for them. Which to me is only using 1/3 of the tools in your toolbox. This place uses all of them and seeks to find more progressive ones too. I also see a lot of athletes having absolutely great experiences here from what they say walking out.  For me-- I hope to never loose access to there pain relief when I need it. They are Gods.

I have been a patient of Orthorehab Specialists off & on, mostly for a knee that has seen its share of surgeries and is now battling arthritis.  Terry B and his team has done a great job keeping me up and running.   The evaluations are precise and tracked every visit and the therapy stretching and exercises are kept simple.  And they are nice people ...  it sort of makes you 'want' to get healthy again.  I highly recommend the Edina office.
