"The Osceola County Welcome Center and History Museum was created in partnership with the Osceola County Historical Society and Osceola County to share the county’s rich history with locals and visitors.The center is comprised of realistic dioramas showcasing different habitats that you could encounter while in Osceola County: swamplands, pine flatwoods, oak hammock, and lakefront. Once you experience each section in person, you’ll see just how much nature and history are tied together in Osceola County. The museum also features exhibits related to the citrus and cattle industries, transportation and early tourism in the area."

We were greet by a very nice lady at the front desk. She gave us some directions and we walk around the museum. Is free very important, thank you Osceola county for that. You can see some of the history of Osceola. They have a lot of item used in the past 1900's. Also next door is the Shingle Creek trail.You can do kayak, bicycle, run and more. Such a great place to spend a fun day. We'll come back.
This is my second time there. I love this place. Looking back at Osceola County's history is amazing. I am originally from Osceola County and it is crazy how much it has changed over the years. This place is like stepping back in time. It is a wonderful place to bring your family!
The Osceola County Historical Society Experience is amazing and definitely a must see with the family! This place is loaded with Osceolas History and the Staff is Very Knowledgeable! Did I mention it was free Have a wonderful Time
This place has lots of interesting displays and fun activities for kids of all ages. The building is not very big but it is packed with information! My teens and I walked through the exhibits three times and found new things plus things that we missed each time. Learn the history and nature of the area, or get souvenirs, or just get information for local attractions. Whatever your reason is for being in the area: I suggest that you add this welcome center to your list.
I love this place!! We parked here to run beautiful 6 miles at the Kissimmee Shingle trail!! Peaceful and several options to add more miles if you want to bike or doing a long run!
It's a fairly small museum although I've visited smaller ones. My family enjoyed it! Very well kept. The presentation was interesting.

It's so fun to learn so much in one place. Even our nine year old loved it. The use of iPads to swipe to the next description of flora and fauna is a great addition.
When visiting Kissimmee and Osceola County, stop by it's welcome center. It's like a step back in time to how the county began. They even have live gators!
An enjoyable museum full of natural and cultural history of the county, mostly dating back to the pioneers that came to the area in search of new opportunities. You can also get information about other natural and cultural attractions in the area.
