The mission of the Oxford Police Department Facebook page is to work cooperatively with all citizens and to affirmatively promote, preserve and deliver a feeling of security, safety and quality service to all citizens of the public.

The Oxford Police Department Facebook page is not intended for use in an emergency situation, or for the communication of private or personal matters. In the event of an actual emergency for fire, medical or police, please dial 911. If you wish to contact the Oxford Police Department business line, please do so during normal business hours on Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm at 1-207-539-4414.

The intended use of this Facebook page is to serve as a mechanism for official communications between the department and members of the public. The Oxford Police Department reserves the right to remove any improper content or ban violating users, from this site. As guidelines, articles and comments containing any of the following shall not be allowed:

01) Comments not typically related to the particular social medium article being commented upon.

02) Profane language or content, verbal harassment, retaliation or bullying.

03) Content that promotes fosters or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, national origin, genetic information, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation or any other status protected by law.

04) Sexual content or links to sexual content.

05) Solicitations of commerce.

06) Conduct or encourage illegal activity.

07) Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public, public systems, or department employee’s.

08) Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party.

09) Disclosures of confidential and/or privileged information.
