A magical meal was to be had on a hot Sunday afternoon, sitting in a cool, elegant dining room with soft light, crisp linens, impeccable service, and food from heaven's kitchen! The classic Baseball Steak was cooked to perfection and garnished with a tasty marrow bone. The Seared Scallop appetizer was amazingly sweet and succulent with an incomparable lobster sauce that put it over the top. Being served on classic fine china, crystal, and silver is such a delight after so much trendy minimalism elsewhere. Our wonderful waiter Jaime made sure we had everything to our liking, and shared stories of earlier days of Pacific Dining Car as we looked at the amazing photo collection lining the walls. With an ambiance steeped in so much Los Angeles history, one senses a continuity that is not usually associated with Los Angeles.

Literally here right now and couldn't ask for a better experience. If you're looking for a place to come and feel welcome, then you've found it. The historic but recently renovated space gives you a good feeling right when you walk in. I can see why celebs and politicians come here when in town. Ignacio handled the bar so perfectly! My friend and I came in and had an idea of the watering-hole-like drinks we normally get. However, Ignacio suggested we open up our palates and he presented us a variety of cocktails. The drinks were delicious, alcoholic, and catered to our preferences. He seems to be the sort of employee that genuinely cares about his work and he made us so comfortable and happy to be there. You can tell this place really wants their patrons to be happy.

Ridiculously overpriced. The decor is great, if you're old enough to remember what a railroad car looked like. $6.50 for a bottle of Corona beer. I ordered the small baseball steak, the least expensive steak on the menu. Cooked medium, it wasn't particularly flavorful or tender, and was somewhat dry. The Dining Car salad at $ 14.95 had no taste. The creamed spinach at $12.95 was good, and there was enough for two people. The service was also poor. I was immediately asked for my drink selection after I was seated, and it came quickly. But after that, I had to ask for a menu and then ask for the waiter. On the other hand, three people asked me if I wanted another beer.

Mr. Idol what a delicious steak!  The lobster mac and cheese and garlic mashed potatoes were a great compliment.  I've always wanted to come here and made it date night/anniversary dinner with my husband.  You're staff are wonderful and the ambiance is awesome as well. You can invite us anytime!  Thank you so much,  Chiquita Turner (Satisfied Customer)

Fantastic restaurant, open 24 hours a day, but they stop selling liquor at 2am. If you want an amazing steak, go here. Great staff, amazing food. I came in with a reservation, it wasn't on their list, but I had my email. I was seated and while I was eating, I got a text apologizing from the owner. Coming here again with my wife for tea.
