Nice library. Not warm and fuzzy, but it does what it is supposed to do. 

Great old photos of Asheville. And a great used bookstore.

I am new to Asheville and graced the door of the downtown public library a it opened this morning. I went in to get a library card, and the older woman would not let me even speak, but shushed me so she could do all of the talking, therefore none of my questions got answered! Also I used their women's restroom  and there was urine and feces dried on floor from previous days gone by,  So I complained to the young black man behind the counter, who rolled his eyes at me and spoke to me very disrespectfully in disgust, and said our cleaning person does a wonderful job nightly! let us just see how that would go over with a health code inspector?

The kids love it there. Great story time and the Lego club are big hits. Children's librarians are awesome the adult section librarians definitely treat it as just a job.

A favorite downtown spot. The children's section is especially great, with an amazing selection of graphic novels and frequent activities. My one complaint is that their hours are very limited and inconvenient.
