My favorite place to go for a drink. Bartender Kathleen is a great hostess and I have made many friends with people who go there because of her excellent service and personality on Thursday through Sunday. Kevin is the bartender who works Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. He and I are NY Jets fans so always have lots to talk about. Paddy, the owner and his assistant, Sergio redecorate the bar several times a year with beautiful decorations. They do not serve food but it is okay to bring in your own refreshments.
Great dark Irish bar. Good pint of Guinness.Service: 5/5
This lovely neighborhood bar was introduced to me by a dear friend who is a native New Yorker. It is definitely a local place and has the feel of being such. It is warm and friendly. The bartender, Kate, is a lovely person who is kind, funny and swift in addressing patrons. People are very proud of their lovely place and I can feel that it is a place that people have met lifelong friends. I think it is hard to find places that really speak to the heart of the residents of new York, but this is definitely such a place. People were genuine and sharing. Funny. Welcoming. There is a little shed type place in the front to sit outside that will allow you to smoke if you smoke cigarettes and not feel like you are just a wanderer hanging on the street loitering. There are two great pool tables that are well-maintained, good pool sticks, chalk and hand chalk which is lacking in many places here. It does not have any sort of seedy vibe at all. It is also not a homogenous place. People of different ages, ethnicities and races are found there. It struck me as a little utopia of relaxation and friendship. If I were a member of this neighborhood, I would be happy such a place we're so close. Definitely go by and spend some time there. There are two bathrooms one male and the other female that are private. It is a cozy place. There is great variety of choice there, although I did not try much. My friends and I had a lovely time. Note: the pool players are phenomenal but very kind. Bringing your own stick is welcome. There is a change machine as well. It was a joy to be shown such a place.
Me and my friend stopped here during our weekend trip to NYC. This place is what ever Irish pub aspires to be. There were no seats at the bar but we were able to take a seat against the wall and enjoy the atmosphere. It seemed like everyone sitting at the bar knew each other. People were greeting others as they came in and the bartender knew what to start pouring before they even sat down. Watching this was awesome! We had some good conversations with some of the other patrons and of course enjoyed a Guinness. If you are walking around the city and see Paddy Maguire's, don't hesitate to stop in. You won't be disappointed.
great Irish bar, super friendly bartenders and a crowd. we had a lovely time, drank decent tequila no anejo tho and ordered a pizza from nearby when we needed a snack also love it whenever I can work the tunes! the decorations were really awesome, we were in a sea of St Patrick's Day as soon as we walked in. so festive!!!!
3 isn’t it but neither is it a 4. It’s a neat bar, but a little odd. Loved the decorations, but pricing and the vibe was off. Maybe wrong night? Check it out it might be for you, but for me I feel there are better choices.
Cutest Irish bar! The decorations are adorable and the bartender I think her name is Kathleen and she is so attentive and sweet!!! 10/10!!
This is a great Irish bar with amazing bartenders and fun interior decorations. They also have two very well-maintained pool tables next to the main bar area. There’s no kitchen but guests are welcome to bring in outside food while they get a drink.
An institution. If you're a tourist. Don't come here. And definitely don't ask for the bartender Ece. Ah Jay She's a terrible human. So is Kate. Kidding of course. It's not glamorous. It's not fancy. It doesn't have food.... but they let you order in. The owner, apparently, owns "just" this one place, rumor has it. Pool leagues thrive here. So do regulars. Come here.... or don't. That's the attitude. And it's a part of vanishing NY. You're welcome.
Super cute and festive for the Christmas season. Love all the decorations! They also have festive drinks. I ordered a baileys coffee and it hit the spot.
