Nice place. Salad good and live musician (the owner) quite good. Even flowers outside. Interesting cool quaint decor. Nice waiter. Not very expensive. Lights change color. Very good steak and pasta and the best garlic bread I've ever had! New favorite place on island. Six star :) great place for anniversary. They were on restaurant impossible season 9 show 11... Great place for anniversary but good for families too.

My family vacationed on the island this past week. We ate at Padre Rita twice. The staff was amazing! The service, food, live music, and overall atmosphere were beyond 5 stars!!!! The waitress Shawn went above and beyond for us! My son was sick so we ordered his food to go. When we got back to where we were staying he opened the box to find a very nice message written in the box from Shawn. The singer Mr. Lafferty was so kind to my kids! He was a joy to listen to while eating!! The second time we ate there we were greeted with the same hospitality and DELICIOUS food! Just like our first visit we had an amazing waitress! Liz was very helpful, accommodating and just overall one of the best!!! We even had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners. Kathy was so friendly and certainly knows how to take care of customers!! If you EVER visit South Padre, you MUST eat at Padre Rita! If you like fantastic service, EXCELLENT food and a fun atmosphere, then you won't be disappointed!!!

We were looking for a new place to eat while in town. They were very up front about the wait from the second we walked in so that was nice. The ceviche was absolutely delicious & my first experience of clam chowder set a very high bar. My boyfriend said it's the best he's ever had. We will definitely go back!

The food was good, but the service was not the best and reason I'm rating it a 2 star. We asked for extra napkins and they never came around. I had to get utensils from the table close to ours in order to get the napkins we had asked for. We also asked for our ticket and the server took too long to bring our ticket...mind you, it was not even a busy day at all. This was our first time at Padre Rita Grill and not sure if we would consider eating there again, Just because of the service.

This place was PHENOMENAL!!! Please ask for Rhino for EXCELLENT service. We met Arnie, the manager, and my fiancee absolutely adored him. The food and drinks were super DELICIOUS!! We sat out on the patio and it made an already Superb dining experience even greater. Rhino recommended we come back on Friday and we will definitely come back!! We've been to a lot of nice places on the island, but Padre Rita Grill is our favorite...HANDS DOWN!!!!
