It's a hit or miss with this hospital. I can count on my hands the few good staff. Unfortunately, my doctor does not go to this hospital so I'm always stuck with the hospitalist. I thought going to the same hospital would build a relationship so they know who I am ( hard worker, caring mother and wife) and my usual treatment but that doesn't change a thing. I will not be returning back here I'm over being treated less than.

An ICU nurse was told to get my son ready for discharge. Going home.She came in my son's room and saw he still had his central line cath. She wasn't properly trained and didn't ask for help. Because as soon as she pulled it out my son. He held his chest told me he didn't feel good. The nurse went to get the doctor when the doctor came in to ask questions the nurses lied to him said she did everything right. My son had an air embolism to the Brain which left him brain dead. I lost my son. Florida laws don't allow go after the hospital because he was 25 years old so they are getting away with murder. So on August 22,2016 I lost my son. And this nurse is still working there like nothing happened.

They left us alone for extended periods of time without updating us as to what was going on. It took them 2.5 hours to even realize that they need a specialist. The whole experience took 5 hours and unless we asked for information, none was given. The staff acted as though we were bugging them when we were just concerned. Very disappointed with the professionalism

Got in and out in less than 2 hours. My toddler was sick and that working staff did a pretty decent job with her from shots to temp check.

I just took my mother to PWH for surgery because it is where her doctor is affiliated with. The positive is that the nurses who took care of my mom were very friendly, particularly Ashlyn, who went out of her way to make sure my mother felt at ease. I think the nurses do what they can with what they have and how they are managed. On a negative note, the hospital has terrible communication problems with the doctors. First, we had to wait 4 hours for a referral because when we got there at 5:45 am the paper work was incomplete. Then you ask the nurses about the doctors and they are clueless. Personally, I am used to care at facilities like the Mayo Clinic, Park Nicollet Clinic and Northwestern Memorial Hospital and PWH does not come close to offering the kind of care the aforementioned facilities do. I hope my mother never has to return to this hospital. I fear for her there.
