Well...maybe the experience we had with inappropriate actions done to my father have changed some as it pertains to my Mom & possibly others. She has had 3 good experiences herself including most recent-so far. I am writing as she does not have a computer. While ALL are human first, some have more ineptitude than others. The fact is some go the extra step where others will not or do not. This is a general FACT in society. While in ER with Mom, myself & child our treatment was decent. Mom has said she likes the care they previously gave her so far, also the food service. We are waiting on further testing.

Do not be deceived by the remodeled facility. The care provided from the ER to intensive care to a regular room is deplorable. The staff overall is uncaring and incompetent. Recently had a family member receiving care for an emergency issue. The doctors on staff are "Hospitalists" who have no background history on the patient, they are supposed to act as the attending physician coordinating care among the other specialists. They did nothing. The result was that my family member received the wrong medication and underwent a procedure that should not have taken place due to their condition. These actions caused major damage. Stay away from Palos, it is a death trap.

Had my baby here and they are so wonderful! I plan on having all of my Births Here actually. Special thanks to my favorite nurses: Tina, Michelle, Elise and a couple of more girls. Food could be better but other than that, I had a great 2 day experience in labor and delivery. :-)

Waited in a 1/3 full waiting room for 3 hours; got into the triage room and waited another 1 1/2 hours and a doctor never even checked to see what was going on, all the while 10 nurses sat behind the desk area, laughing it up and having a great time. In the meantime on a computer screen in the triage room, there was a picture showing a mouth with a finger to it saying, be quiet, there are sick patients. Your staff should certainly adhere to it or get off their butts and try to help people. After 5 hours we finally got up and left, went to the front reception area and told them we were leaving. They then called back to the triage area where a doctor stated that he had just gone into that room and the patient had left. The receptionist said, the patient is right here. Well, isn't that convenient? We walk out, the receptionist calls back and gets a doctor on the phone who says they just went into the room. Don't insult my intelligence. He most assuredly did not go into the room. Secondly, and most importantly, your triage rooms are disgustingly dirty and there were used receptacles of ultra sound gel just laying on a cart. I wouldn't take my dog to your hospital for treatment. Palos used to be a very nice hospital. I would never go there again. I'd rather drive 50 miles to a better staffed and better kept hospital.

Let me start off by saying that the nurses at Palos Hospital, particularly the ones in the out patient area, are truly amazing and wonderful people. I can not praise them enough. I have trypanophobia, which in simple terms is an irrational fear of needles and/or injections. Due to my medication I need a blood test every 6 months. I have horrible anxiety during these test. I shake, cry, have a hard time breathing... The works. I've even fainted a few times. Nothing helps ease my anxiety. I've tried everything. And nothing helps in the slightest. Its embarrassing and I hate it but I can't help it. Every other hospital I've gone to has only made the already stressful experience worse. That was until I started going to Palos. They made a huge difference, more than I can describe. The nurses there truly care and have consistently helped ease my anxiety to a manageable level. They are angels and I can't thank them enough for being so understanding towards me. I 100% recommend Palos Hospital to anyone who shares my phobia or any anxiety for hospitals. These nurses truly care and make everything so much better by simply being the compassionate and understanding people they are.
