I woke up this morning setting an intentions for something amazingly surprising to happen to me today. It has begun already! I went out to get coffee and ended up in a little coffee shop across the street from where I used to live 15 years ago.  The only place I know that is not West Indian owned and sells cornmeal porridge at 7 in the morning. Wow what a treat! And with cinnamon!!!!!

This place used to be so great. But over the last year this place is inconsistent in so many different areas that I've given up.

I've gone to buy bread here early on the weekend like in the old days only to find it closed or opened late by someone. I've come in after they've opened only to be told they've run out bread for sandwiches?!

Other times I'm able to get sandwiches it's either made with love and care or its come out fast and horrible. Sometimes the meat is fresh tasting or not. The pastries sit there for quite awhile while picking up a "stored" taste.  Just isn't fresh everything I go. I don't know if it's the cooler displays or what. Seems like it needs some Arm & Hammer to suck in all that bad airing.

Lastly, customer service is getting worse. There was a woman there in the beginning who was always helpful but swamped behind all the business. Now it's just terrible service, no smiles, rushed orders or even being told they're not making sandwiches for the rest of the day.

This place really needs to take example of the bakeries from Puerto Rico. Shameful...

If you're on the hunt for a terrific Cubano, Panderia Pan Del Cielo has one of the best in Hartford.  Delicious cubanos, great price, and a wonderful selection of pastries, breads, and other sandwiches.

Very good sandwiches! Even though they are open til 5pm, you have to order by about 4pm or they will refuse your order!  Otherwise they are fantastic!
