Cited as a must see in the New York Times travel section, the Paper Moon is a one of a kind book and gift store located in McGregor, Iowa-just one block from the Mississippi River!

Ken, Louise, and Jennifer opened the Paper Moon in 1994. The historic 1860’s building proudly went green with solar heat in 2009.

​The Paper Moon has been described as “the ultimate in therapy shopping.” The ground floor hosts a unique array of gifts, including beautiful jewelry, a hand-picked line of cards and postcards, toiletries, household accessories, and tons of bizarre and fun stuff! The second level balcony holds children’s books and toys; the third level is 1,000 square feet of new books in a comfortable and charming atmosphere. Inventory is in constant flux and Louise and Jennifer work hard to make sure the store has something for everyone.
