PARK WEST GALLERY — REIMAGINING THE WORLD OF FINE ART

Park West Gallery is the largest privately-owned art gallery in the world, bringing the experience of collecting fine art to more than 2 million customers since 1969.

No other company has the expertise, insight, or variety of art as Park West Gallery. Whether it’s masterpieces from history’s greatest artists or the latest artwork from leading contemporary icons, Park West offers something for everyone.

For decades, Park West Gallery has brought its unmatched knowledge and customer service to art auctions on cruise ships, in major metropolitan areas, and at its original gallery location in Michigan. With top-notch framing and delivery services, Park West Gallery ensures that art lovers and collectors anywhere can enjoy their art for years to come.

Park West Gallery strives to create an entertaining, educational, and welcoming atmosphere that ignites a passion for the arts. Park West’s mission is to make the art world accessible, helping its clients build lasting memories through collecting events, educational seminars, and art exhibitions.

PARK WEST’S FOUNDER

Park West Gallery Founder and CEO Albert Scaglione worked in his cousin’s art gallery as a teenager in New Jersey. He learned techniques for framing, varnishing, and hanging art, and, most importantly, Scaglione learned the impact art has on people. When he gave his parents a work of art with the money he earned at the gallery, the sense of awe and joy they experienced stuck with him.

Scaglione established Park West Gallery in 1969, leaving behind a promising career in mechanical engineering. He quickly learned that—by seeking out and working directly with artists and the estates of artists around the world—he could ensure the quality and authenticity of the art he was bringing to his customers, allowing them to collect with confidence.

Through Scaglione’s tenacity and ingenuity, Park West Gallery now has relationships with over 100 major artists and artist estates.

CRUISE SHIPS

In 1995, Park West Gallery began hosting art auctions aboard international luxury cruise lines alongside Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International. Today, Park West can be found aboard more than 100 cruise ships around the globe, including ships in the Asia market.

Guests aboard cruise ships can enjoy free art education seminars and peruse onboard galleries at their leisure. Park West’s friendly and knowledgeable art teams are always more than happy to answer any questions.

By taking art auctions out of the traditional auction house setting, Park West Gallery creates a comfortable environment where new and seasoned collectors alike can acquire beautiful works of art they will treasure for the rest of their lives.

PARK WEST’S FACILITIES

Park West Gallery’s headquarters is located in Southfield, Michigan, on a beautiful 3.5-acre site, including a natural pond and sculpture garden. The classical Greco-Roman building houses galleries featuring artwork from renowned artists as well as a diverse collection from new emerging talent.

This facility is home to the recently remodeled Park West Museum, which features previously archived masterworks created by Rembrandt van Rijn, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró, Francisco Goya, and Albrecht Dürer, among others. Open to the public, the museum also hosts exhibitions from such iconic contemporary artists as Peter Max, Yaacov Agam, and Autumn de Forest.

Additionally, the company’s staff offices, fine art storage facilities, restoration studios, research department, and digital catalog printing facilities can be found in the Southfield headquarters.

Park West Gallery’s 181,000 square-foot fulfillment center is located in Miami Lakes, Florida. The facility serves as the distribution center for the company’s cruise ship and land-based auctions. Have been buying art from Park West Gallery onboard several cruise ships and land events and have been very satisfied with customer service with a couple of issues we had with some of the art we purchased. Jonathan Klein is our customer service representative and has been very helpful in resolving any issues that came up that my wife and I have had with a couple of the many pieces we purchased and we are very happy and look forward to purchasing more art on our next land event or cruise whichever comes first. Park West does everything possible to keep their customers happy and we keep coming back as their selection of art is superior and their customer service is excellent in resolving any issues which may come up and they resolve those issues to the customer’s satisfaction, within reason. They are very fair and that is all we ask from any company we do business with. Can’t wait for the next event!

To begin with, 1 star is way too much to rate this company, but unfortunately that’s the minimum I’m allow to give. I purchased 5 pieces of Art work from Park West Gallery a couple of months ago while onboard a cruise. After months of anxiously waiting for the new art work that would hang on our walls, we were very disappointed when we finally started receiving them. The first piece received was a beautiful one, but unfortunately the picture/serigraph had a scratch on it, and many imperfections as well as the frame, which also has many imperfections. We contacted Park West Customer Service right away, and after a very long wait, we were told to leave our information and call back number and they would call us back within 1 business day... Well, it’s been about 3 business days since then and not only have they not called to address our concerns, but we have received another 3 pieces in the mail, one which had chips on the picture, and a crack on the frame. Unfortunately we still have 1 more piece pending and we’re really not looking forward to it, since we’ve lost our faith in Park West Galleries. We researched the galleries reviews after getting back home and saw that many of them were negative, but the art work was already purchased, and we figured we’d give them the benefit of the doubt, which we now regret. We’re hoping that our last piece comes in with no damage or issues because we’re frustrated, and unhappy enough with what we currently have, and we’re hoping Park West will fix the issues we’re currently having. We’re hard working people, who bought art work in good faith, and feel like we were taken advantage of. Unfortunately, I don’t see myself ever buying art from Park West Galleries again, and will encourage people to research and find a reputable gallery for your art collection.

A Great Company to Deal with! Been a customer, buying original art since the early 1970's! They have a vast selection of art for all tastes and budgets. From there headquarters and gallery in Michigan to their on board galleries and auctions on several cruise lines, you can see art that in some cases are not even in museums. Framing is impeccable, customer service is outstanding and the auctioneers are the most professional in the business.

If not for time and effort that Keisah from Customer Service spent on the phone explaining in greater detail why I haven't received my artwork and issuing me a refund on my purchase, this would be a 1 star review. I purchased artwork on a cruise roughly 8 months ago and received 1 of the 2 pieces within 12 weeks. I received a letter a few weeks later explaining that the second piece would be delayed. After that letter Park West made no attempt to keep me updated on the delayed piece. I called once in June for a status update and was offered a refund on the shipping since they were unable to deliver the piece within 12 weeks. At that time I was told the piece was damaged and had been returned to the artist. I called today and asked for a refund on the purchase price, Keisha was extremely helpful and explained the refund process. I'm am frustrated that it will take up to 2 months for a refund to be processed and that 8 months after the purchase, with little communication from Park West, I felt it was in my best interest to ask for a refund. There is a better way of doing business. A customer should not have to wait 2 months for a refund and a Park West should make more of an effort to provide status updates on delayed pieces. I would be reticent to purchase from this gallery again.

I was on a cruise to Jamaica earlier this year, on a Royal Caribbean ship and even though I got there late because I missed the ships departure, and had to then fly to Cozumel to get to where the ship was docked. Once settled in I I did have the joyous opportunity to bid on some amazing artwork. My stateroom was very near the art being displayed, and I am also an artist and I have a mom and pop art studio in San Antonio TX. I was astounded when I bid eight hundred on a lithograph by Tarkay. He had been an Israeli artist who had left us in 2012. He was known for his colorful paintings of ladies with big hats and bright outfits relaxing in chairs with tables next to the chairs and big bouquets of flowers arranged on the tables. I had also bid eight hundred on another painting done by a little known artist. The worker said I could get a line of credit and pay the balance off over a year and I put in my application but I heard nothing more. I called Park West gallery a few weeks after arriving home and they said it was too soon to call. After about August, I finally found out I would not get any of the two items. The man who helped me was Rodney and he asked me to patiently wait for another painting of comparable value. I accepted the lithograph he offered and it came in the mail today 11-9-17. I have taken the art into a frame shop for a basic frame and it will be hanging on my wall in a few weeks. Thank you Park West, I was very happy I waited and the whole experience turned out to be bitter sweet.Ill be coming on another cruise in 2018 and I hope to have an opportunity to acquire more artwork at that time.
