Warm, bright spot for coffee, tea, snack, or lunch. Nice spot to meet up with a friend. Lots of tempting baked goods as well as a menu full of salads and sandwiches, vegetable some tasty and vegetarian options. The salad bar selections are pretty great and include lots of grains and beans and other proteins as well. I will for sure return here when I have a pleasant hour of solitary time to kill. Vegetarian options: I really liked that they had quinoa on the salad bar. Also sweet potatoes and many other tasty items.
Patis is a true haven for pastry enthusiasts. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by an impressive array of beautifully laminated pastries that instantly made my mouth water. The standout for me was the delectable strawberry croissant, bursting with flavor and perfectly flaky. However, it's worth mentioning that everything at Patis is simply amazing. The selection of fresh sourdough bread, available in different varieties, was a delightful surprise. The sandwiches were equally delicious, but the mushroom, tomato, and spinach combination stole my heart. And let's not forget the small tarts, which were nothing short of fantastic. Patis is a must-visit for those seeking a taste of pastry paradise.
They were the kindest. They didn’t have the bun for the sandwich I ordered so they gave me a different one. Then, when I came to pick it up, they threw in two extra pastries as an apology. They really went out of their way! The croissant didn’t taste as fresh as the last time I remembered but it could be because it was summer in NYC…
Disappointing pastry, not as described/advertised, overpriced for what it was, and with no prices displayed. Bad layout, with customers seated in front of and blocking the sideways pastry display, while the counterside display is nearly empty. Generally worn out and not well maintained, with holes and stains on walls and chairs. Staff has long loose hair against health code, admonishes people for not ordering more, and does not bother to ask if to stay or go, but instead packages as to go for customers that they apparently do not want staying, and plates items for people they like. Really disappointing. Gave 2 stars not 1 because it is inexplicably full. Though more talking than eating.
Nine of us met for lunch 12:PM, Ramaz HS class of '56.We were apprehensive there would not be enough space to seat us all despite giving Amin, the manager, a "heads up" a week earlier.Did we ever underestimate him and how he remembered my call! The staff was so accommodating i.e. moving tables and chairs together, bringing our orders to the table efficiently, as we used to say 6 decades ago, "service with a smile".Food and coffee were great, considerate and friendly customers, very clean surroundings. We enjoyed ourselves immensely for almost 2 hours.Next time in NYC will make sure I stop by. Vegetarian options: Good selection Parking: meter parking plentiful
Excellent Kosher coffee and pastry shop on the upper west side. The almond croissants are to die for! Crisp and buttery with plenty of almonds. Coffee is very good too. Nice selection of cookies and baked goods. There are a few of these around the city and of the few I’ve been to, not one disappoints.
Trying to get in my 10,000 steps on a day with torrential rain and massive flooding was maybe not a great idea. I had to stop, and conveniently for me, I found this nice spot on Amsterdam Avenue to take a break. I sat down in the cozy seating area and was promptly served by a friendly and welcoming young lady. I had an almond milk latte and a warmed almond croissant. The croissant was fresh and delicious and the coffee good too. Reasonably priced as well.
The place was nice and cozy. Unfortunately, the service was slow and inexperienced. I was halfway thru my sandwich and I hadn’t received my coffee. There had been 3 or 4 people who had received their food and drinks, yet still no coffee for me. Also, the sanitation needs to be reviewed. I saw flies hovering the bread and quiche on display. The only upside was that the sandwich I ordered was pretty tasty. Next time I’ll order food to go. It seems they’re better at that
Great food and pastries. Great pizza . Sandwich is a must . Aleaha the manager was supper nice . She was extremely sweet.
This branch of this excellent -- and certified kosher -- bakery has a few items that aren't available at the other Upper West Side location, e.g. the full-size cheesecakes and the savory tarts. The Sweet Potato Tart and the Tomato Provençal Tart are my favorites, but all the tarts are yummy especially heated up. Heads up that the mushrooms in the Porcini Mushroom Leek Tart have a delicious smoky flavor.
