Ms. González is originally from Matagalpa, Nicaragua. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Politics from Pomona College in Claremont, California. Ms. González also studied at the Fundacion Ortega & Gasset in Toledo, Spain.
During college, Ms. González had internships at the New York City Mayor's Office of African American and Caribbean Affairs, at The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (M.A.L.D.E.F.) in Los Angeles, CA and at The Tomas Rivera Policy Institute in Claremont, CA.
Ms. González received the degree of Juris Doctor from the University Of Washington School Of Law in Seattle, Washington in the year 2000. She was licensed by the Washington State Supreme Court in 2001 and is qualified to practice Immigration & Nationality Law throughout the United States.
During law school Ms. González volunteered with the Immigrant Family Advocacy Project and was part of the UW School of Law Immigration Clinic at the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project in Seattle, WA. She was a research assistant to professor Joan Fitzpatrick, a noted scholar and advocate in the area of Human Rights Law. She interned at two law offices where she did research, writing and represented clients in court.
Ms. González provides legal advice and representation in the areas of Immigration and Nationality Law. Ms. González opened her own practice in 2004 in San Diego, CA after working for several Immigration Law Offices in Seattle and San Diego. In 2006 she moved her practice to Chula Vista, CA.
Ms. González has extensive experience representing clients before the Immigration Court and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Department of Homeland Security. She handles bond hearings, removal proceedings, appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals, Ninth Circuit Court and Administrative Appeals Office. She also handles asylum cases, consular processing issues, family based visas, fiancee visas, LGBT petitions, waivers, (green card) adjustments of status to lawful permanent residence, removal of conditions, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), U-Nonimmigrant visas, VAWA self-petitions, Paroles-in-Place, Advanced Paroles, Work Permit renewals, Humanitarian Paroles and Naturalization.
Ms. González is fluent in Spanish and has lived in Nicaragua, Spain and Italy.
