PCC Community Markets - Columbia City
"Columbia City PCC is located in one of Seattle’s most diverse ZIP codes, which is something we’re pretty proud of. Our tight-knit community is a mosaic of cultures, ethnicities and languages. The same goes for inside our store, where you’ll find farm-fresh produce, grass-fed meats and scratch-made entrées that are as unique as our customers who shop here. So, grab a pint of draft kombucha before jumping on light rail, pack a picnic-perfect lunch of Pork Adobado tacos to eat at nearby Columbia Park, or pick up a bottle of kosher and Va’ad approved wine to go with dinner tonight."

PCC is known for it quality. Typically touted as a natural foods market it lives up to its reputation. Most items are produced with little or no preservatives or dyes. Very healthy choices in the isles. Although on the speedy side, it’s worth it for the piece of mind when consuming their products.
Love my neighborhood PCC. Awesome selection and there’s often something new to discover. Don’t miss the cooking classes either. I’ve taken several and each one has been a rewarding experience. As far as improvements, the pizza isn’t as good as the Bellevue location and I wish they would re-open the entrance by the coffee bar. But until then, pretty happy to do all my grocery shopping here.
I love all the products and goods sold at the PCC market, especially the organic ones. They have the best deli selections ever compared to other markets. The staff is super friendly and hospitable to customers. I love how they heavily support local businesses by selling high-quality products. I highly recommend this market to anyone
Love this place! PCC is my go-to for local/organic/ethical grocery shopping. Way better than both Whole Foods sorry Bezos and Trader Joe's in my opinion. It's not quite as affordable as mid range stores like Safeway or budget-friendly places like Grocery Outlet, but I can feel good about every penny I spend here which is more than I can say about the above places. Especially love the local alcohol selection and refill options. No excuse now to keep buying products packaged in single-use plastic!
Horrendous customer service experience with a bespectacled white middle-aged male employee, effectively terminating my relationship with this location on my end. I do my grocery shopping here 3-4 times a week, $20 to $50 cash each trip. As any young male throughout their twenties is acutely aware of, moreover anyone fitting the toxic stereotypes of our day e.g. black males, young people in hoodies, throngs of black Americans in shopping centers, and so on, you become unqualified targets for any kind of shoddily trained security and/or management staff upon entering a large grocery/retail store. Despite the rain in Seattle, I usually feel compelled to undo my rain jacket/hoodies. It’s usually a good idea to leave any kind of backpacks/grocery bags at the store front else risk a barrage of false accusations and harassment. This isn’t mere paranoia or exaggeration; things like this have happened to me before. The night before I had explicitly asked the staff what time the soup/hot bar would be prepared for the following morning. I was told 6am. This turned out to be untrue and was left by myself this morning meandering, waiting, until the soup was ready. There is a sign on the restroom door proclaiming unpaid groceries have to be left in the hallway. Upon returning from the restroom, my shopping basket of sundries was confiscated. Obviously at this point I was being monitored. After asking around and getting my basket back from behind the counter I served myself soup at the hot bar. My cup was overbrimming, spilling at the side, causing a minor spill which I promptly cleaned up. At this point my stalker introduced himself via painfully condescending manners and thinly veiled contempt. After feigning goodwill and insisting on intercepting my actions— which were sufficient enough on its own to adequately clean up a minor spill and finish minor shopping, but I acquiesced—he began aggressively following me and harassing my every step. All this transpired over about 10 minutes. Consistent with an insufferable condescending attitude he instigated a pretext that I had been shopping “too long” and needed to check out immediately with a clerk. Big mistake. Whoever my cashier was neglected to double bag the heavier glass bottled items. Not far from the store my bag collapsed from the weight, glass drinks shattering on the pavement and spoiling some of my food Not only was I disrespected and harassed for no valid reason, but whenever I use manual check-out it is incompetent more often than not. Earlier in the week I was short changed on cash back by a few dollars. I was also double charged for a single drink. While I had already forgiven and overlooked even asking for a refund for the aforementioned, I won’t be returning to this location after what happened to me this morning.
Something I love about this store is that it’s a natural hangout spot on a sunny day and/or during the Farmers Market. People chatting outside the doors and at the outdoor seating brings a lively and vibrant feeling! This PCC has so much character and community involved with it. Love it!
Nice, sterile environment. Hypnotically caucasian. Avocados are strikingly overpriced and at the same time, easy to steal. Another one of god's little tests.
$9.99 container of "chicken and rice soup" not the soup bar from their ready-made section was basically just broth with a few carrot pieces tossed in. Only a few grains of rice. Zero chicken pieces. If I had wanted chicken broth, I would have just grabbed a container of it from the soup aisle. Pathetic.
Love the layout and location, tucked into the neighborhood. Lots of quick bites from both the hot bar and the cold section. Everything we tried was tasty and fresh.
If you’re trying to make a cheese plate, go to Alan and get whatever he tells you to get. Absolutely incredible service providing new, exciting choices for us based on more familiar cheeses we like. Weekly stops to the cheese counter for his recs are now a must for us.
