My Husband and I recently retained Ms. Dement-Carpenter to handle a very serious criminal matter on behalf of my 16 year old son who was falsely charged with serious criminal charges, with the possibility that it could have been waived to adult court for jail time due to the nature of the charges. During the initial stages when it was first referred to the Department of Juvenile Services, Ms. Dement-Carpenter’s professional, aggressive handling of the case from start to finish, enabled us to keep the matter out of court completely, and settle it for a fraction of the demanded cost for damages. I highly recommend her services. She is honest and helps you get your desired result quickly, while explaining the process every step of the way. She helped my son to not have a juvenile finding or criminal record, saved me and my family emotional turmoil and promptly refunded any unused retainer we paid her. In addition to her honesty, it is clear she actually cares about her clients.

My ex and I had two appointments with Pam. They first one she missed, in which she offered two different excuses for. The first actual appointment was successful. The second appointment Pam went on a rant about her own life, wasting our mediation time. We did not cover our last topics and therefor did not have successful mediation; although we both tried to get her back on topic several times. We did not see a reason to continue seeing her and giving her more of our hard earned money. I asked that Pam draw up an agreement of what progress we had made so we at least had a foundation and then needed corrections on that agreement. This request took several months of unanswered and returned emails, various excuses on why it had not been done all while Pam acted as if the agreement and corrections were a "courtesy" to us. I finally asked her for a partial refund; several months had gone by. She apologized and offered to send me a check, when I declined a free session. When again, I email to inquire on the refund she acts as if the conversation never happened, that I was trying to keep my ex-partners money and that I was extorting her. As I said, I am frustrated, offended and confused by every interaction I have with this "professional" mediator. We find ourselves in these situations because we need helping navigating an emotional situation in our lives, not to waste money and be insulted. She does not help people. I am writing this long review to only help anyone not waste their time and money.
