Generally very high quality products and performance (and also--this is important--a willingness to correct something if the first attempt wasn't successful). I appreciate having this service in town.

Hi. I thought I'd post a review since I've used Peck's several times (all under the current management). I used to live above them and would use them regularly for a boot shine, shoe repair, or purse fixes. I wouldn't consider the owner a "people person" which is where some people have had issues. But I've never had issues with the quality of work and I appreciate that he is transparent about what needs done and at what cost. He helped me decide, for instance, that a cheap pair of shoes (that were falling apart) wouldn't be a cost effective fix. But higher quality items like my leather satchel he repaired for cheap (maybe 10 or 15 bucks) and went as far as to reinforce the straps on both sides (so it hasn't needed additional repairs).

After shopping at Peck's for thirty years, I'm done. I brought in a LL Bean Camp Moccasin for restitching and came back to pick it up a week later. I came in a nine in the morning and my claim check said it would be ready at two. The owner gave me lots of reasons why it wasn't done, then gave me attitude on top of everything else. As you have to pay upfront for repairs, I asked for my money back. My shoe got repaired for less 300 miles away.

Repaired multiple shoes for me, and they did a superb job. Can't tell the old from the new stitching... flawless.

Sometimes the fit there is grumpy.  But he did amazing my great work on my work boot repair.
