Good police department with helpful officers. This city has stayed calm over the years with relatively little crime because of the proactive policing. Peekskill is a safe city with plenty of accessible areas because of the policing and the non nonsense approach to community policing.

I went to pick up a police report that was supposed to be written two weeks ago. I was first sent to City Hall only to be told that it wasn't filed. When I went back to the police station the officer "helping" me took 15 minutes to tell me that the officer responsible for writing the report don't sign the report. When I inquired why my report was incomplete he barked at me that it wasn't signed, a redundant statement. He offered no solution and just told me the officer was going to work later. I had to ask if someone would give the officer the message and he finally said he would write him an email. He was rude and disrespectful. Is it too much to ask that Police Officers have general courtesy and speak in full sentences when addressing the public that they are SERVING and PROTECTING! Additionally, can they file reports in a timely fashion?
