Good food with big portions. Friendly service, and reasonable prices. Close to the highway for a quick stop while traveling.

cozy but could use a bit of a facelift and a scrub. decent potions and decent food quality, nothing amazing but it's a tiny town. warm, as in no AC in the summer lol but that's minor. biggest disappointment of all was the beer wasn't ice cold, it was a hot day and no AC was really hoping it would be frosty cold...time for a new freezer maybe

Basic Fare, but well worth stopping if your heading through Salmo. We stopped in for lunch and each meal was fantastic. Large portions and reasonably priced. Love the building too.

The only saving grace of this restaurant were its potato skins and even they were below average and sparse in toppings. Starving and passing through town, we chose this place for its good reviews... Which must be for a different restaurant entirely. My date had the fish & chips with poutine. The fish was overcooked, the poutine was also overcooked in the fryer and was made with shredded cheddar cheese and box gravy as opposed to the cheese curds that would be, at minimum, expected. I had the shrimp club wrap with a side of coleslaw. The wrap was filled with iceberg lettuce, flavourless tomatoes, 2 strips of bacon, and the tiny shrimp that one might get prepackaged in a grocery store. A flavourless mess, it instantly fell apart. The coleslaw was equally bad, and probably out of a 20L pail from the grocery store. I picked at both but finished less than 15% of each. My date forced herself to finish her fish but couldn't stomach more than a bite of the poutine and asked the waitress if she could have something different instead. The waitress went back to the kitchen to check and came back with the response of "No, but we won't charge the extra $2 upcharge for the poutine." This is by far the worst restaurant I have been to in several years, and perhaps, in my life. Looking over at the 4 patrons in this restaurant (all over 60 years old) I saw that their soup of the day was apparently chicken noodle... of the Lipton's boxed variety. At $20-30 for the pair of us, we'd have gotten better quality food at the local fast food joints for less money. We will never return and I write this review only to save other travellers from a similarly poor experience.
