This place used to be great! Always good service and always clean employees. Must've had a management change because now it is just like every other fast food restaurant. Nasty looking employees that look like they literally rolled out of bed and walked into work with no shower in between. Get it together corporate! Hire better people and better managers! Called in a carry out order a few days ago and went to pick it up twenty minutes later, guess the worker failed to tell me they were out of fries...yes I said out of FRIES. I went to pay and the lady said they were completely out and wouldn't have any (keep in mind there is a huge box of potatoes directly behind her). She said oh um yeah we have to prep them. Prep fries people? Really? How do you expect to run a restaurant if you don't "prep" throughout the day rather than waiting till you're completely out of something. Makes no sense.

I visit Penn station quite a bit. The sandwich here was better than many I've had at other penn stations ! Typically a medium fry ($4) is enough for two: was quite disappointed at the quantity given at first but John made it right ! Fries are cheap to make - earn more customers by being generous.

The bread used to be really good. On my last few visits, the bread was under baked or they have changed to a different bun. Either way it's a mistake.

Unfortunately there aren't any Penn Station's in our State of Wisconsin. So, it is a treat when we are passing thru on vacation in London KY to enjoy a great tasting sub. We have visited many locations several times, this one included. Unfortunately today's experience is becoming the norm at this particular Penn Station (and the fast food industry). There were several staff members present, it is difficult to address a situation when you can't identify the person you are talking to because they refuse to wear name tags. I was not greeted at the door, the gentleman seemed to be irritated with my special requests such as "extra crispy fries", which I requested TWICE. When checking out the Lady behind the counter barely uttered "you want a receipt?" Still without a single courteous exchange of words, or a smile, 2 or 3 minutes later, she held up a bag saying "Kim. I walked out feeling like I was robbed of $35 for 2 subs, a small fry, lemonade and gallon of tea. To top off this unpleasant visit, the small fry I had requested "extra crispy", was barely warm and soggy. Had I not been in a hurry to head back to wisconsin, I would have personally returned them and request the name of the Manager. Instead I called the store and had to extract the name of a GM, and when a good time to call would be. After I curteously said "Thank You", there was a click on the line. The "younger generation" that typically work in the fast food industry, haven't a clue on the concept of "Customer service" or the fact they should feel honored to have Customers. There is a general trend towards poor social interaction in society. The same Younger Generation that currently make shopping or a trip out for fast food unpleasant with their poor attitude, aren't going to care until THEY are the restaurant owners.
