Great service, great customer care, always willing to go the extra mile for the customer. Great staff, good prices, work is completed with the utmost amount of professionalism, and always a speedy service. I will always trust my car to be worked on by the crew at the Palatine Pep Boys.

Very happy with the service I received. I left my car with Pep Boys when I went out of town over a long weekend. I had some weird things that needed to be fixed and my car was fixed before I was back from my trip. They saved me a lot of money because going to the dealer for this work would have been really expensive. I would estimate they saved me $500, at least. Kurt the manager is a great guy and was very upfront about what he could. He personally called me when my car was ready and explained what was done and the costs. I will continue to bring my car to them in the future. I highly recommend them. I see some poor reviews on here, but I think management has changed and you should give them a shot. Thank you!

Just gonna share the details and leave the emotion out of it. You be the judge. On 7/28/17 I dropped off my SUV because I needed new wheels. I worked with the crew to find a good set for me, at that point we ordered them and I was told they would be in 3-5 days. I waited until the following Thursday to follow up, the guy told me 3-5 days. I was confused and said I was told that 4 days ago and am checking in. They said they would call me back, I never received a call back. The next day I called back and asked what was up, they said 3-5 days. I said I ordered these last Friday and needed to know what was up. They said they would call me back, I asked him to promise since I was told the same thing and never got a call. Hello promised, and broke the promise. No call. I called on Monday, they said 3-5 days, I hung up and drove in there to see my SUV on the lift and wheels set next to it. I asked what was up and he said it was a problem with the current lug nuts being too big for the new wheels. He ordered the parts and it came in today. The problem is he only ordered 24 lug nuts when my vehicle (that was sitting there for almost 2 weeks) calls for 7 lug nuts per wheel. To top it all off the bill was $200 more than what I was quoted and the only "sorry" I got was a $35 managers discount. That's my story, take it for what's it's worth.

I had an appointment to repair two tires. It took them 55 minutes to tell me that they are not repairable. They said it would take over $400 to get 2 new tires because they have to rebuild the tire pressure sensors, balance the tires and do an allignment. I was not able to afford that price at the time so asked for my car back. The guy told me and I quote: "I cannot let you out on the road with those tires. It is unsafe." I asked for my car again...this time upset and I was probably rude. The guy repeated the same sentence again, how HE cannot let me out on the road. It is unsafe. Then I asked for my car back again and for the third time he repeeated the same sentence...and he said that I have to sign a form to get my car so I dont sue them, which I was okay with. What I was not okay with is the fact that he tried to sell me on a $400 service 3 times in a row.He could have mentioned the paperwork the first time. I got my car back and got a quote for $180 for two tires at a local shop as long as I bring my own sensors which cost $25 dollars each on Amazon.
