The food here is pretty classic, but the service and atmosphere are weak. Last time we came here, we sat at our table for 20 minutes and never even got menus. We left without placing an order. I used to enjoy Pepitos on a weekday night for some good Mexican food and a margarita, but will have a hard time returning after the last few visits.

Upon entry, a sign indicated that they could not serve alcohol; another sign indicated that the ladies room was the men's (rest) room. A broken chair propped open the actual men's room door. Regardless, the food was quite good as usual; the service was friendly, but slower than usual.

The food was good, but the service wasn't anything special. The manager was not flexible on substitutions for the Vegetarian in the group. We found that a little odd but had a positive experience otherwise. I could be pulled back here, but I prefer places that are more accommodating.

Going with 3 stars to be generous. Food is definitely not on par with other cheap Mexican joints in the area. Atmosphere is getting a bit rough, frequently out of a lot of stuff, and carries no hot sauce? Still fine for a quick meal if you happen to be walking by though.

This restaurant was really in sad shape when I visited. The food was mediocre, at best, all save their fried ice cream. They also no longer had a liquor license, so margaritas were off the menu.
