This is one of the best kept secrets for auto repair and maintenance. The owners are very honest and do great work. They're upfront about their pricing and always do what they can to save the customer money. 

I've had a Honda civic that needed a head gasket done. Best price I honestly found. I called shops from San Jose all the way to Solano county and these guys were the best price out of all out them. I've also had the transmission on a Ford econoline van repaired (my work vehicle) as well as getting my mom's window mechanism fixed. I don't take any of our family cars anywhere else.

Great friendly service. Family owned.  They looked rather busy but Bobby was able to squeeze my simple headlight problem in (trouble shot, found, & repaired ) in half a day which was great. I knew it would be an easy fix I just wasn't sure if a shop could get it completed in a day but Bobby did.  Thanks.  for comparison based on the bill and the time actually spent on the truck they charge about $95.00 an hour for labor which is about right and on the low end of the average going rate in the Bay Area.

Had a Mercury Mountaineer with weird ass problems, one being finally diagnosed by an exhaustive test performed by the district Ford service center, and was so rare my truck was just the 2nd such problem seen in this service district in a decade. 

I commend Bobby, the owner of Performance Auto Works, not for solving the problem, which he tried tenaciously, but how he personally concierged my truck thru the process of getting dealership intervention. I didn't have to go to the Pittsburg location and re-explain everything, Bobby acted as my representative and took care of the situation himself. That is first rate customer service. And he even rebated costs I already owed him on select repairs he did that were redundant or unnecessary to the final fix. That is professionalism. 

Now, this great repair shop hasn't seen me in a while, but only do to lack of need.

That troubled Mountaineer was sold, and got myself a new set of problems still unforseen, a Jaguar.  I hope Performance Auto Works repairs Jaguars, I'd hate to lose this shop as my go-to mechanic. We will see soon enough.
