Beach butler service was definitely worth it. We will absolutely do it the next time we are here. They set everything up for you: chairs, towels, umbrellas, and a cooler with bottled water. Then you get your butler’s phone number and you just text him when you need something and he brings it right to you. They open a tab for you and you settle up at the end. Alcohol isn’t available at this location but we didn’t really care. Our butler Aaron did a great job and he was super friendly. He would even come and check on us when he wouldn’t hear from us for a while.
Food was ok, but folks there were very rude: they started closing half an hour earlier 5:30 instead of 6 on Sunday, the guy just took an umbrella from our table that made the sand get to our food and said "We are closing". Very unpleasant experience, do not recommend this place unless you want your weekend evening spoiled.
Ordered an iced latte and tuna sandwich. Service was quick and the seating under the umbrella was nice. It seems they limit seating to 1 hour, but I don't know if they'd bother enforcing it as there was ample seating. Staff seemed pretty cold and the prices are expectedly overpriced, but tolerable for the view. Iced Latte with a little vanilla was actually quite good and quick. Tuna sandwich was trash. Celery forward with no moisture between two hard pieces of toast. I get the impression it was made by someone who doesn't like mayonnaise or tuna sandwiches, but has seen them in pictures. Tuna sandwich was ready in no time at all, but it shows. I'll probably go again for just coffee and a seat if I'm on the beach in the area, but don't plan for this place.
I went for a coffee and she said they were out of coffee and offered a latte. When I turned to ask my friend if they wanted a latte she told her co-worker, "I'm not about to make coffee and we're about to close". FYI they didn't close for an hour, and it was chilly out. Since she isn't aware of how to politely whisper I declined the latte.
Don't ren't here! Website said they opened at 10. We got there at 10:30 to rent bikes and were told to come back in 30 minutes when they were done setting up. They gave us lots of attitude when my friend asked them to adjust her bike seat. I asked for a different bike with working gears, and was told I was already paying for the time but suit myself. Then, when we returned, were told we had to go get our paper printouts because their system was down. Terrible service, terrible attitudes, mediocre bikes. Never again!
Went on June 30th, wrong order, not only mine but many others, the bathroom was a disgrace, flooded, dirty, no soap. It was around noon, so it hasn't been cleaned since morning, as the soap cannot finish that fast.. Our requests to clean it were meet with rudness, my wife was told by one young employee that they have no time to clean it, and he just loked it. What was worst is that he yelled at us as we were leaving and refused to give his name. The manager seemed to be absent.
Leaving this review at 6:40pm. They refused to take our food order because they close at 7pm. Who has heard of a restaurant closing 20 mins early? Here with two hungry kids. Planned our day around their hours. Now we have to figure something else out.
I am reviewing specifically the bike rentals. Not the food. The bikes were perfectly nice, but the service was not. The bikes were unlocked for us at 10:05 and we payed for an hour. A 10 minute grace-period was provided. We arrived back at 11:13 cutting it close but still within our grace period of 10 minutes. The employee charged us for two hours and claimed we had made the purchase at 9:50, even though the bikes had not been unlocked until after everything had been processed. I understand that stores like these face competition from App bike rentals, but I think it is unfortunate that they ripped us off like this. I would go again, but I will remember to be much, much more cautious about when I check back in.
Here's the upfront: I'm reviewing the bike rentals aspect of Perry's. I didn't eat at the cafe. Easy enough to rent bikes and be on our way. There is a per-hour fee, and then over 3 hours I think is a flat fee. We returned the bikes slightly over the 3 hour limit and were granted the lower price anyway, which was great. As for the quality of the bike, my chain clicked quite a bit, but made the entire ride. The seat was comfortable enough and was easy to ride without being cumbersome. The rentals came with a big lock, so we were able to park the bikes and enjoy the beach/local shops without worry or having to bring the bikes back. Overall, a good experience!
It might be pricey and the customer service a tad rude...but for this Texas resident the view, location and food are outstanding. We always get the King Richard's Veggie Burrito which is outstanding....and this time we also got a huge pancake in addition. To sit on the beach and watch volleyball, hear the waves and the sun warm the the left side of my face while my toes curl in the sand make this place worth it. Coffee and drinks are really price and face it a diet coke is a diet coke, bottled water is bottled water....and most coffee is coffee. So we picked both up before getting there to save 8-10$. Enjoy!
