I buy my dog's food here and I am always greeted by a friendly smile, and they are always ready to help me. I go there only about once a month for her food - I buy the biggest bag available - but the service has never changed. My kids also love seeing all the animals there.

Petco ruined my tank. 
 I had an established and thriving tank and decided to stop in to buy a bristle nose plecco. The employee was rude and continued to lecture me on how to keep a tank after I told her I have had tanks for years. I was almost to the point of walking out; looking back I wish I would have. 

Turns out the plecco died the next day. Shocker. I went in to exchange the $3 fish and they gave me a hard time and say no because I didn't bring in a water sample. Frustrated and annoyed I just threw the dead fish in the trash and left. I wasn't going to make a 20 minute round trip for another $3 fish. 

Then the following days I noticed one of my fish get puffy lips. It died a few days after. Then one by one I lose my fish. Checked all the levels. Amonia, nitrite, and nitrate are all perfect levels (this is what petco would have checked). Decided to take my water to another store and get it check out just to double check. Everything was ideal. Turns out buying this $3 plecco at petco was diseased and introduced a fungus to my tank and killed off almost all my fish. This past week I have been medicating the water and the fish stopped dying. 

Today was the last day of medication and tomorrow was going to be a 25% water Change to complete the treatment. Low and behold I find one of my remaining fish dead against the filter and another with the fungus infected lips. At this point I think the tank is basically done, and will just have to start it all over. 

Turns out this $3 fish cost me a lot more than $3.

Great selection on animal food and toys, including the only brand of dog chew toys that my dog can't get through.

I expec the pet superstores to be more fun and friendly. Unfortunately, I believe, the location/placement in the shopping center for this petco store is making them out of the way and  extremely quiet. WIsh they had m ore adoptions and events.
