Our first and last trip to Petco's novice groomers, and that's being polite. This is what I got when I asked not once, not twice, but THREE times to make sure they got rid of my service dog's 'pants.' $52 and not a single instruction was followed. The girl that brought him out was not the one I left him with. The one I left him with gave 3-4 hour estimate, took 5 hours, and he wasn't even dry. Painfully obvious thus job was rushed. Unless you've got an ankle biter that needs a simple shave, look elsewhere.

went to Petco for the first time recently to have Brodie, my shih tzu, groomed. I was very impressed how clean and organize the store was. Ashley, Brodies groomer, answered the questions I had spot on and took me right to what I was looking for and made a suggestion on something that he liked even better! She was very personable and friendly with me as well as with Brodie. I could see she enjoys what she does and Brodie seemed to be very comfortable with her, which says a lot! She did a great job on the grooming and all the trimmings. Overall I don't think I could have been more content with my first visit and I will certainly be back the next time he is due for a grooming! So Ashely, thanks again from Jason and Brodie!! See ya again soon

I’m writing this post Because I’m so upset and this is the only way I could think of . The way the grooming manager has treated my daughter and store manager wouldn’t step up and do anything . My daughter has worked in this grooming department as a apprentice since September 2017, she was a transfer from the petco store in Slidell, la . she was also an apprentice there she worked herself up from a cashier and that’s a great store by the way everyone in there is nice she never had a problem there. She had to transfer because her husband is the coast guard. She’s been a petco employee close to two years now. From day one being at the Daphne location she complained to me about the cleaning conditions in the grooming department there was mold in drainage trap, the kennels doesn’t get cleaned by some of the employees after the dogs leave, etc.The animals can possibly get sick!!! The first week of her working there she was cleaning the mold out when Ashley the grooming manager asked her to stop when she try to explain that in Slidell they were trained to clean a certain way she was told by Ashley that’s not the way we do things here.After that she cleaned it anyways when Ashley wasn’t around. Everything was going well until December of 2017 when my daughter decided to join the coast guard and she needed to take off a few days to take her exam test in Montgomery, Al. And the days she needed off happen to be during the black out days (few days before Christmas) Ashley was very upset with her wanting off even though she knew what is was for arguing with her saying she couldn’t take off and telling her things that was unnecessary and even texting her after hours about it and she kept the text messages.My daughter went to the store manager asking him if it was okay he told her that she had the write to take off it’s in the petco policy about military rights and that he would talk to Ashley about it.Ashley got upset that she went behind her back to speak to the store manager after she had told her no. when she had came back from her days off it was getting worse in the work environment so she decided to call HR on Ashley. Nothing was done about her, it had gotten worse off and on she was retaliating she deliberately let her do her work and Ashley would get the credit she didn’t give her any dogs to groom on purpose and she wouldn’t schedule her any. she gave her one or two dogs a day if that so she couldn’t get credit & when that happens they have to put you on the floor and be a cashier .she was still in the grooming department the store manager and Ashley were talking about putting her on the floor due to the lack of the credit but hadn’t as of yet. But last week she gave her two week notice because she is leaving to go into boot camp for the coast guard . Yesterday February 17 they laid her off they stated it was because too many people employed in the store and she was the last employee being hired even though she was a transfer. That’s just funny that they didn’t mention anything until she put her two week notice in ?! If they wanted to keep her they could’ve. What they did is illegal but we can’t prove it because they went through the loopholes. I know my daughter can’t be the 1st employee of petco that has ever joined the military ? And she has been treated horribly. Just Because she wants to better herself she doesn’t want to be like Ashley a 29 year old woman only making maybe 30,000 a year ! . she did want to be a groomer at first that is why she choose that career but change her mind especially after the bad experience she has had. Quincy (don’t know the last name) he’s an auditor of petco when the store knows he is coming they clean the store when it should be cleaned anyways!! For the safety of the poor pets that live in the store and the ones that visit. It needs to be where the auditors do pop up visits , so they can catch them in the act. It’s too late for my daughter she is no longer employed there but I hope it doesn’t happen to no one else, that’s trying to join the military or whatever it may be.

All of the employees are extremely nice and very quick to assist you. I highly recommend their dog training classes with Brittany too. She's done an awesome job with my dog's bad jumping habits.

Took two dogs to beginner adult dog training we always showed up for every class and drove up from Summerdale. We never canceled. The instructor broke her arm and canceled the last week two times then we were told it would be several weeks. Never heard back. The dogs never got tested or seen graduation or even got a completion of class from them. We didn't get a partial refund or even a credit. We got nothing at all to prove the two dogs even went there. Disappointed and won't go back. Too far and difficult for us with a husband with a disability and try to work it around his medical appointments.
