Great place to spend a summer's day. Could use a bit more shaded areas and the beaches could be cleaned up of rocks a bit. A volunteer ”pick up a rock after swimming" program with buckets for collection on the beach could help.

Great place to visit to play in the sand or if you prefer to take a short walk over to the park for a small walk and then come back for a small dip into the river to cool down.  On Canada Day this one of the best locations to be in Ottawa, outside Parliament Hill.

Very nice place to stay and chillax in the summer sun. Plenty of people to meet, and great water conditions. (except when the sewage plant overflows and infects it all with E. Coli, but that's not the beach's fault, is it.)

Yes the beaches are really nice, huge, and not too many people know about this nice place. I've been coming for the last few years but 2016 summer has been the best as far as hot and sunny weather go though there were unfortunately times when only one beach was open because of high bacteria levels. And the gov't is so kind in not charging a fortune for the parking. Thank you very much for a vacation I can afford and enjoy.

Fantastic! It is really an island of peace and nature. I love how disconnected from the city you feel there.
By night they seem to offer a nightclub dance floor, but I have not been. I just heard the loud music while leaving.
I went there for a picnic too and it was gorgeous.
