Came in a few weeks ago to get a specific food for my cat, who is on a diet and needs prescription to buy from Pet Smart. It is hard to keep it on me since I am really busy, the past few times I have been the associates have given me a hard time about not having my prescription, also saying they cannot print out new ones. I called to ask once more, since my cat was out of food and hungry. Spoke with a man name Scott, from the Animal Hospital. He was very polite, upbeat, quick and efficient. Looked up my information right away and printed out new ones within 10 minutes. He made it seem like it was not a problem at all for me. Came right in and picked them up. what a great example of customer service!

I really like petsmart when it comes to decorations. They have more aquatic decorations that I've seen in any store. The fish are basic, but sometimes you will see something cool. The most negative feeling i get going there. Is every single time i purchase a fish. You go through a screening process that would make logan airport screening look bad. What size tank you have, how many fish do you have, what size are your fish, do you have a heater, what kind of fish are in your tank, how long have you had the tank running. And then lots of times they repeat the questions. It is such an uncomfortable experience that I've decided not to buy my fish there anymore and go to luckys aquarium instead on james st. I go in feeling good about getting a new fish, and then i come out like I've been interrogated by the fish police. I'm sure they are only doing what they're boss tell them to do. But anywhere else i go, petco or other businesses. They don't ask you all these questions, they just like ok no problem let me get those for you. One of the workers told me gold fish have no stomachs...seriouly?

Boyfriend went to get a ball python, after having years of experience handling various reptiles just like me. He went to go pick out the python he wanted and the staff kept telling him that the space he prepared for the snake was all wrong and that he had to do exactly what they said, basically. Despite him doing his thorough research coupled with years of reptilian experience. Kept on telling him that he needed experience to get the python he wanted and that he needed a vet (which we do, having various other animals in house), and he ended up being given a different python. He was told on the phone that in store snakes are all male, always. They only had females.

Animals may not be healthy. Bought a Bearded Dragon in August. Pinworms, Coccidia, and Gout, which is very rare for a juvenile bearded dragon. I would recommend if you do get one, bring to a reptile vet ASAP for a well visit, but alternatively, purchase your pets through a breeder or a rescue adoption. Dinkys reptiles and aquatics breeds most of their own and I wish we had known and purchased from him.
