I recently used Phillip Pelusi salon for my wedding, which was 4/29/17. I met with Regina a few months ago to discuss hair and makeup options. I showed her pictures of what I was interested in and she made it come to life! I went for a trial a few weeks before the wedding for my hair and absolutely loved it. The day of the wedding she amazed me even more! The time and attention to detail that she dedicated to me made me feel so special. She did my makeup flawlessly and highlighted the areas I wanted to accentuate the most. She was kind, made me feel comfortable, she was professional and a true artist. I would return to Regina at the Phillip Pelusi Salon in Ross Park Mall in the future for a special occasion!

Everyone was nice but my hightlights came out more blotchy looking if I known that I probably would have just did an all over color instead of highlights. Also, when they were dying my hair it burnt my scalp and caused more hair shedding than normal afterward. Needless to say I'll be going to a different location/ different company. (Note: Visited the salon more than a month ago and I'm still loosing hair due to that visit including scalp damage from the hair dryer burning and pulling at my hair too hard without using detangler)

Disappointed after veteran stylist left. Tried someone new, literally was brave enough to try someone who was clearly newer. Everyone deserves a shot. I would suggest PP better supervise their newer people. Nothing like getting expensive services and feeling like it was just slopped on. No separating hair into sections with clips. Just random and very, very few. Like under 8. For a full head application, not nearly enough. Going to try a different PP location next time

If you're going to the Philip Pelusi in Ross Park mall, I VERY HIGHLY recommend asking for Darla. I am almost 28 years old and she is the only hair stylist that has ever given me exactly what I ask for and has gone above and beyond to do it. I'm mixed with tons of very thick, coarse hair that was was not in the best shape before seeing Darla for the first time about 4 years ago and my scalp has always been very sensitive to the relaxers most salons use. I don't know how her arms don't fall off after seeing me (an almost 3 hour visit), but after only having to describe my concerns one time, she only uses a specific sensitive relaxer and even takes the time to part my hair in tiny sections and put a protective coat of a gel on my scalp before even applying the relaxer! I had never been pain/burn free when getting this service done before until now and I can't tell you how much I appreciate her extra efforts. She is also the only stylist to ever listen to my "smallest trim possible" request. My hair takes forever to grow and other stylists I saw in the past would always chop off any new growth I had with their definition of a trim. Darla knew that I was just looking for a clean up to get/keep my hair healthy without taking too much away from the length and did it exactly how I asked. This review probably seems excessive, but she's awesome and well deserving of the praise. I moved almost an hour away from this location and refuse to go elsewhere! I would go to Darla for any service and you should too!

I went to Philip Pelusi based on its reputation since I am new to Pittsburgh and needed a color and cut. I made an appointment with Traci. I was on a time schedule because I was going to an event later that night. She did get me in and out, however my color was very brassy. I did not have time to have it fixed that day due to my time constraints. We discussed it at that time and I said I would come back sometime that week and she would fix it. I called the next day only to find out that she was going to charge me to fix it! I advised her at that time that it was definitely her choice but if that were the case I would be looking for a different stylist and I would rather pay them to fix it than give her any more money. So she decided to lose a good customer and cut some corners. It woud have been to her benefit to just fix it. A quick twenty now just does not equal out to missing out on hundreds of dollars. So I was not satisfied AT ALL with the color. I brought it up to her at the time of the visit. She agreed to fix it only to renig later. The cut itself was average but not what I expected after spending $100 there. Overall, I will give this place two stars based on my experience. I feel I could have went to Supercuts and received the same level of quality and expertise. Maybe even better customer service. Perhaps they would be willing to fix what they had messed up on without charging me for their mistake. My advice would be to stay away or use their services at your own risk. Just understand that you may have to pay for them to fix their own mistakes after already paying once. If you like orange hair and getting ripped off, I would recommend this salon. I am not impressed with Philip Pelusi and think it is overrated, hyped up garbage. I will not be visiting again. You would be better off going to Regis. If you do choose Philip Pelusi, definitely do not see Traci.
