Meeting Vicki Sims for my initial consult, I did not leave with the best feeling. Of course there were questions asked about my medical history and such. After answering a typical question about my pregnancies, she followed up and asked if my kids were all from the same father. Vicki- if you are reading this, what does that question have anything to do with the care you are supposed to be providing me with? Please educate yourself and google “micro aggression”. I provided my insurance to the front desk during my initial office visit. She verified my insurance DAYS later like 2-3 office visits later. She said my co-insurance was 10% so my out of pocket expense wouldn’t be too much. Well, after taking her word, I scheduled multiple appointments. After receiving my first billing statement that included about 2-3 appointments, my bill was approximately $500. The information she initially provided was incorrect. After discharging myself after my 5th or 6th visit, I paid between $800-$900 for PT. The billing statements were emailed to me after I’ve already complete a few office visits The reasons above prompted to seek PT elsewhere, and I couldn’t be happier with the results and very limited discomfort I now have. I would however like to leave some positive feedback about Cole, the physical therapist I worked with at Gainesville PT. He really listened to my chief complaints, explained why I was experiencing my pain and discomfort and showed me home rehab exercises that really did help.
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Their instructions and the associated booklet for at-home therapy were really helpful. I followed their directions and my recovery from shoulder surgery was better than I expected. I'm glad that several of my friends recommended Gainesville Physical Therapy!
Gainesville Physical Therapy Loved it I have had a few injuries in my time and needed therapy most experiences are below par at best. HOWEVER my first experience with Gainesville Physical Therapy was over the top 5 star. Dr. Carissa Essex took personal care of me and worked hard on tissue and scar from knee replacement. Day one I now can move my leg on its own without having to lift it by hand. This is only 2.5 weeks out of surgery. She explains how the muscles work and tendons and makes a plan with you to get the results you desire. Thank You Guys for the work you do. Dave Plum
PT Jeff Skorput is amazing!!! I have been to chiropractors and other PT, but Jeff has taught me things no one has ever taught. He has helped me learn how to correct my problems with the correct exercises to keep my body from getting back into bad shape. I would highly recommend using PT Jeff Skorput
After 40+ years of back pain and issues and then for over 10 yrs. not having relief from the pain, I thought it was something I would just have to live with. I had injections, took meds, did exercises, numerous dr appts and even chirp.adjustments that only worked for a short period. Dr. Hazzard recommended Gainesville PT and Vicki Sims, it changed everything for me. I walked in limping and in severe pain and within 3 weeks I started seeing improvement and the pain was easing up more and more. They taught me self adjustment exercises that have helped so much and I can now say that I am pain free and I have learned to do the things I love to do again. Vicki and her therapists work with you one on one and listen to you and care about your pain and suffering. I highly recommend this PT group and to know that you will be working with people who truly care about your health, your pain and you as a person. AWESOME is what I call these miracle workers.
First visit before I was even examined I was shown a video on SI problems. Vickie Sims told me one leg was longer than the other. She grabbed a book which she had written and started writing in it. When I checked out I was charged $26 for the book and was never told I had to purchase it. She started treating me for S I joint problems which after I went to orthopedic Dr. found out that I did not have this problem and both legs are the same length. I feel that her whole treatment is set up to sell her theories and her book even if it does not apply to the patient.
Great place. I've been treated by Kristen Basinger PT, CHT, for several months. Initially, I could barely use my right arm and hand. My goal was to regain 50% of my pre-surgery levels of mobility and strength, within a year's time. I'm now at 80%+, and fully expect to be at 90% by year-end. Kristen is one of the very few CHT's in this area. She is very knowledgeable, yet listens to you, and incorporates how your body is reacting into the therapies she uses- basically letting you help design your treatment, within the framework of her knowledge. Very happy with my therapist, and with GPT as a whole.
Each time I've been to Gainesville PT, I received nothing but the best of care! All of the therapists are professionals who not only know how to treat their patients, but who are also polite, kind, and simply amazing.
After seeing countless medical professionals for my sacroliac joint pain, I eventually decided to do some online research, That's when I first heard about Vicki Sims. She is a physical therapist who specializes in Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction. Desperate and with little alternatives, I decided to purchase a plane ticket and go see Vicki in Georgia. It was the best decision of my life! Vicki was very knowledgeable and after several weeks my years of pain had drastically improved!
The staff are fabulous. Very knowledgeable and caring. They are the beat all around. I drove 1hr 30min for my rehab and I would do it again if I ever need it What I enjoyed the most was that they are great listeners and understand your pain.
