My husband and I were excited to venture to the restaurant last night without our young children to enjoy dinner out for my birthday.  

We were a few minutes early to our 6pm reservation, and the host graciously greeted and seated us along the window on the left side of the dining area.  Afterwards, I'm not sure what transpired for us to be treated so offensively by our waiter, an older man (I can't even say gentleman) with salt and pepper hair and an accent. 

He repeatedly made comments in regards to my husband's size and questioned his food selections, saying he wanted to make sure he had enough to eat so we "didn't have to stop at McDonald's on our way home." 

We were baffled by these comments and wondered if we offended him in some way by not ordering one of the many specials on the menu last night.

To add to this offensivensss, when he brought us our meals, he asked if we were married.  I said yes, and then he asked if I had been to the restaurant before.  I responded yes, with my family one time before. He proceeded to turn to my husband and say "yes, I have seen here her with other men."

I don't know if he thought he was being funny or what, but this highly offended me. How dare he say that? 

I am annoyed that I didn't speak up and ask to speak with the owner while we were there. This man made us both so uncomfortable and angry that we couldn't finish our meal fast enough and get out of there.  

Its important to know how horrible our experience at your establishment was and if this man deals with customers regularly, he needs to know treating them in this manner IS NOT OKAY. In fact, if he was my employee, I would fire him.

We are very patient, warm and understanding people, however, our experience at this establishment was so horrible that we will never return again.

Today was my first time at this restaurant .  A friend highly recommended it to me and I will thank her as soon as possible!   The restaurant is a class act!  Our waiter, who told  us  he was from Spain was superb!! We sat at  a cozy table for two at a water view window .  Our food was very good!    We will be returning soon to enjoy the quiet  calming atmosphere and extremely professional service.       Thank you for a very enjoyable time!  Pauline Rekatas north  woodmere, New York

Amazing food, excellent service, I highly recommend this restaurant. Our server, Jose Emmanuel was very attentive and really made our dining experience a memorable one.

We really enjoyed our dining experience at Pier 96. We were seated immediately and our server Jose was just delightful. The wait time between courses was appropriate and the food was delicious. We started off with the sangria which was the best I ever tasted. It was light and fruity. We ordered the octopus for our appetizer and it was scrumptious. The main course was delicious. I had the Stuffed Shrimp with Crabmeat and my partner had the Roasted Mariscada of lobster, shrimp, clams and Mussels in Herb Garlic Sauce we both agreed that our choices were divine. We definitely will go back to to Pier 96.
