Fantastic chowder! I was skeptical about stopping by given the location in pike place market but the chowder was no joke. We tried the sampler and got 4 different chowders and the new England clam in a bread bowl and all were delicious. Personally the new England clam chowder was my favorite but the seafood bisque was a close second place. I can see why they've won numerous awards. I would highly recommend stopping by
Hands down the BEST chowder I have ever had and all of Seattle knows! The line is down the street before they even open, but it is soooo worth the wait. Service is exceptional and they know how to make that line move through quickly and efficiently. I highly recommend the New England and Oyster & crab chowders. They were delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more. If you’re in the Pikes Place Market area definitely stop by! Price is also great compared to everything else in the area.
This place is located underground close by a restroom. It was a little bit hard to find. You will need to order online through your phone and wait until the employee calls your name. "Double check" to make sure it's the right order!! Because there may be two people with the same first name!! I've had Chowder before, so I'm not surprised by the flavor. It is really creamy and rich in flavor. I loved it! It is worth a try. Definitely get it with the bread bowl.
The restaurant is quite small and often has a line of people waiting. Even after placing your order, there might be a 20-minute wait, and you could find yourself at a table without enough chairs. The food is dense and of good quality, but the portions are surprisingly small compared to what you might find in San Francisco. Nonetheless, it's worth giving it a try if you haven't already.
Visited last August, I’m just now into writing reviews though lol…. I was truly impressed with both the food and the service here!! The line was long but moves rather quickly, a well oiled machine here! I’ve had a couple lobster rolls in NYC…one at a very popular and famous establishment and was super disappointed….. Pike Place Chowder did NOT disappoint me at all….i got the regular Maine Lobster roll and it was amazing…I did modify it by adding the melted butter…which kinda made them look at me funny for a second but it’s what I wanted and they made and it was the best!!! I totally found this place by accident just walking around the market area…I’m so glad that I found it! If I’m ever back in Seattle I will make an absolute point of returning here! Oh, and the chowder was excellent as well!
Solid 4 stars. This place is packed and it’s on pretty much all the tourist must-see lists. I order the small clam chowder and the New England chowder. Both were very good, hearty and filled me up well past dinner time. Each chowder comes with crackers on the side to add some texture. The queue is long but it does move pretty quickly and nabbing a seat wasn’t too difficult as everyone eats and then leaves, no one is sticking around taking up spots after they are done eating. Vegetarian options: Most of the chowders are seafood based. Maybe not the best option for vegos Parking: Parking is very hard to find in the area. Best to order share or public transport
Excellent food at this place! The other reviews were spot on in recommending this place as one of the top to visit while in Pike’s Place. They have fantastic chowders and the lobster rolls are good too. We tried a sampler of 4 different chowders, with the original New England Clam Chowder being my favorite. We also tried the Connecticut lobster roll and that was filled with huge chunks of lobster. Overall, we enjoyed everything and will definitely be back!
Got the original clam chowder, it was wonderful. Wish we had more time to check out some of the other flavors they offered. Definitely some of the best chowder I've had. Loved it even more in the bread bowl which soaked up it's yumminess. Lobster was fresh.Food: 5/5
The chowders were phenomenal. I got the 4 flavor samplers and asked the staff to get me their most popular flavors. They didn’t disappoint. I got the shrimp roll and it was okay. I will definitely just get a chowder in a bread bowl when I come back.Food: 5/5
I got a Seafood Bisque to go. It was my first time trying it and I really liked it. It had a rich creamy texture with small chunks of seafood and tomatoes. I would've given all 5, but it was too salty. I was at the place at noon and it had some people in line, but it moved fast. The service was very fast and the staff were friendly. There were no seats available though.
