Store itself was clean well stocked, staff was your average Pilot staff, not bad and not great. Always great coffee. Restrooms could use a good cleaning, fuel islands not to great. This is tho a very old location. Fuel islands need better lighting, and lack of trash cans. Parking area layout not great.

Toilets plugged in restroom. Coffee machines empty and area dirty. No hot food out. Store attendants standing behind counter bullshitting or in the office on the cell phone.

First of all, this was not originally a Pilot, so you can blame the parking layout on Gran'Ma's Kitchen, when this was built new years ago. It hasn't changed much since then but it HAS gone downhill. Removal of the restaurant to replace it with Subway years ago was the beginning of its downfall. Today, the store and bathrooms are consistently dirty. I don't usually complain about bathrooms much but it was no shock when I walked in a few days ago and smelled only puke and saw the same grime everywhere. I am always a little surprised, because the showers upstairs have always been as clean as any I'd find elsewhere (I sometimes shower here before hanging up the keys for time off in Tennessee). The fuel islands haven't changed much since I ran out of Cadiz, KY in the late 90s, when this was a regular stop of mine. The paving IS better, believe it or not, but there are still some places (like the ruts beside the scale that an rgn might drag on if loaded heavily, for instance) that could use some attention. Pluses? Kentucky finally revised the ramps from I-69 (probably federal upgrade funds after the old toll road, Pennyrile Parkway, was converted) so a driver isn't jumping directly into traffic at 25 mph. All in all, there aren't many east-west options on the WK/I-69 route after closure of the Beaver Dam service area.

Best shower I've taken in a while on the road! Everything else was average Pilot

Bathroom was messy, nasty. Bottle of urine cleaner on counter, paper towels everywhere, trash was full. Staff seem nice but clean. As drivers we want fresh fast coffee and a clean bathroom
